A year ago I moved house from a property with a small front lawn to a property with a very large back garden that was also on a steep slope. Up until moving house I had alawys used a Flymo Microlight hover mower, this had been satisfactory at the time but on moving something bigger and better was needed.
I looked about for something new and different and came across the JCB range.

I bought the JCB EM41 for £119.99. This seemed like a lot to pay so I hoped it was worth it and it definitly was.
When it arrived some parts still needed to be assembled but the instructions were fairly clear although it took me about 45mins to get it set up and i had thought for the money it should already be assembled.
The first time I took it out into the garden I was amazed,
The cutting width was 41cm my flymo was only 28cm so it took only half the time to cut the garden.

It has 4 cutting heights, the four wheels are easily raised or lowered with an allen key. This is stored on the lawnmower so you should never have to look around for it.

It even sounds good and has a powerful 1200W engine

It works with a metal blade that makes light work of gliding through the grass, the flymo had plastic blades that were constantly snapping and needed replacing and usually broke half-way through leaving me with a half cut garden.

The JCB comes with a large grass box, It holds 50 litres of grass so you do not have to keep emptying it.

At the end of the session the lawnmower needed cleaning and all the grass removed from inside but it is easy to do there are no fiddly corners to clean.

The only downside to the lawnmower was its weight. My Flymo was a petite 4.5kg. The JCB is a hefty 16.00kg but that is the only complaint I have against it. With its black and yellow colouring it certainly stands out against other mowers and with the ease of use it also stands out. It has made cutting the lawn a pleasure not a chore.
