J.M.B C2005 is a cylinder vacuum cleaner, is looks a bit like the Dyson but it is a lot cheaper. I was having a bad day my back was hurting and I was fed up with struggling with my old vacuum, the suction was poor, the end was held together with tape and the on/off switch didn’t work.
I decided that it was time to part with my old vacuum and invest in another one. I had a look through a LittleWoods catalogue to see how much a Dyson vacuum would be, they were a little out of our price range as my partner had already said that I could only have £150.00 to spend on a new vacuum. I came across J.M.B C2005 is it looked great. It was £119.99; it was metallic purple with a clear part in the middle like the Dyson so you could see all of the dirt that was being sucked up. It was a bag less vacuum so I didn’t have to
spend any extra money buying replacement bags.

I was really excited when it came, I gave the deliveryman a great big smile, took it straight into the house and then I ripped open the box and started to assemble it. It looked very stylish and modern. I read through all of the instructions, set it all up and then I switched it on. I had never enjoyed vacuuming so much, this vacuum, made it so much easier. I used it to clean the lounge but then I put it away, as I was busy.
I got it out the next day and I thought that I would go all the way through the house upstairs and downstairs and get the vacuuming out of the way. I was just about to plug it in when I noticed that all the plastic had split between the floor attachment and the extension tube. Never mind I thought, I’d just have to be a little more careful with it have now on. I started to vacuum the front room, but after about 10 minutes the cut out. In the instructions booklet it said that to avoid over heating the vacuum would cut out sometimes and that you should switch off the power and empty the bag. Then check that nothing is stuck, so I checked the bag and made sure there was nothing stuck inside the tubes. Everything seemed all right so I switched it off and made a drink while it cooled down. I switched it back on and everything seemed fine then after about 5 minutes it cut off again. I emptied the dust bag which wasn’t even a quarter full yet. I couldn’t believe it some dust had gone in to the dust container but some dust was just lying inside the vacuum, it had not even made it into the dust container. I cleaned it all out and put it all back together checking that everything was secure and in it’s place. (An hour later) I switched it back on again hoping that I could least get one room done before my partner arrived home. The power cut off again, I was really mad now, I thought that I would now check the filter to make sure that that was working all right. I pulled it slightly and ........... I couldn’t believe it; it broke off in my hands. You can imagine how mad I was now; I’d had enough. I decided to leave it until the next day.
The next day
I got the vacuum out of the cupboard; I smacked its pipe and told it that it had better behave today. The filter lid kept blowing off because the clip holding it on had broken so I got some sticky tape and stuck it back down. All I wanted to do was vacuum the lounge I wasn’t asking for much. I switched the vacuum on and before I could finish the room the power cut out again, THAT WAS IT.
I took it all back apart wrote a list of things down that I was unhappy about, taped the box up and sent it back. I can tell you all now that I will never be buying a product from J.M.B again.
You may think that I am being a bit harsh but my old vacuum is 5 years old. I get the vacuum out and then I have my daughter switching it on and off at the wall, my son sitting on it has I am trying to drag it around the floor and my dog attacking the brush on the end of it. The J.M.B didn’t know it was born I didn’t let the kids or the dog near it.
I’ll give it a poor rating because this vacuum may be of use to someone, but not a family like mine. If you live on your own, work all day and only vacuum once a week then maybe this vacuum would be able to get you by, but if you want my advice, Leave well alone.
I am waiting to hear from J.M.B, I have refused their offer of them sending me another one and them getting the one that they sent me fixed.
