JMB seems to be a company that manufacture and sell products for the lower end of the market (I also have a fridge and freezer), but so far I have had no problems with anything from the company.

I decided to buy a DVD player because dargging the sofa across the room so that it was in front of my PC was becoming a bit of a pain. After scouting around, buying a few magazines and because of the other op on this player, I decided to buy the JMB DVD-3000, although the choice was limited, admittedly, because I bought it through Littlewoods Extra.

The DVD player was an absolute breeze to set up. You have the option of using scart or composite connections for the video signal. I had to use composite because my TV doesn't have a scart socket. At first I tried connecting through the scart on my OnDigital box but this caused interference on the DVD playback so I connected the composite and audio cables.
Setting up the menus and time was no problem, being very well laid out in the manual, so I slapped in a DVD. Playback was very smooth, with no noticable artifacts and the sound quality was reasonable, but this was limited by the TV speakers.
Now that I've owned the player for a week and have played most of my DVD's I have noticed that every now and again, the playback does jerk a little but it doesn't spoil the playback of the movies. Strangely this hasn't happened in high-action movies where I would have expected it (like Aliens or Gladiator) but rather during slower movies (Kevin & Perry and Entrapment)
You get everything you need in the box and the remote also comes with batteries. The machine is a brushed silver finish so it does look out of place between my video and OnDigital box, but aside from that I'm quite happy with my DVD player.

Advantages: Cheap and works well Disadvantages: Dosent have some extra features
...player for you. JMB DVD players can be found at Littlewoods Extra (www.littlewoodsextra.com) at £139.99. They can probably be found elsewhere, but this is the only place I have seen them. So, your thinking to yourself ‘well I’ve never heard of JMB before, are they any good?’ and that’s just what I thought. Well, basically, they are at the lower end of the electronics market along with the likes of Daewoo, Alba and Mitsumi. ... ...forth. On saying that, the JMB DVD player that I have doesn’t look at all bad. The casing is silver along with the rest of the new products on the market and doesn’t have too many buttons on it to make it look ugly. You might have actually seen the same casing around on other makes or models as it seems to be a general casing for the lower budget DVD players. So, why would I recommend a JMB player to you? Basically because of its quality. ...
