Full review

I was lucky enough to be bought this as a present by my husband, who obviously thinks I need destressing.

Christmas morning I was presented with what is actually quite a large box, considering I was expecting jewellry, the box was huge. After ripping off the wrapping paper (no gently pulling apart the edges for me) I was excited to see this luxury bath spa. I had wanted one for ages, being unable to afford a new jacuzzi bath, this was the next best thing.

Okay in the box you get,

roll out mat for the bottom of you bath
power box
connector tubing
remote control

there are also some little square thingies for you to put essential oil on if you want which go in the end of the tubing to give you that aromatherapy experience.

Down to business, rolled out the mat, connected everything that needed connecting. That was really easy actually, the mat goes in the bath, the hose connects to the mat at one end and the power box at the other, and you plug it in.

Word of warning, it stipulates quite clearly that the box needs to be a certain distance away from the bath and needs to kept raised. ie not put on the floor, to prevent back flow of water into the power box. Dont want any accidental electrocutions. So you will need a suitable surface in your bathroom, like a table or a chair etc. I just put the toilet lid down and put it on there, luckily it was close enough for everything to reach, yet still be far enough away to be safe. You get quite a long length of tubing to enable this.

So with everything set up, and the bath run I settle down for a soak. And it feels like a jacuzzi. Powerful bubbles come shooting out from the mat and massage your back, legs neck etc depending on how you are sitting/lieing. The feeling is quite invigorating, if not as relaxing as I thought it would be.

You get a remote control with it, which is splashproof, so you can use it safely with wet hands. It has three different bubble speeds, slow medium and high, or you can set it run through a program which will sequence through all three and then stop after about 20 minutes.

The downside (is there a downside to lieing in the bath with nothing to do) is the noise. Its like having a car engine running in the bathroom next to you, so does cut down on the relaxation side somewhat. The other thing I didnt expect is that because the bubbles are air being passed along a tube and through a mat is that they are cold, so the temperature of your bath will drop really quickly, not too much of a problem if like me you use your feet to heat up the bath water anyway, but wasnt expected. The only other word of warning I would give is not to fill the bath too ful. The bubbles are really powerful and if you have too much water then everything gets splashed, especially at the higher speeds. I just put a towel next to the bath now to absorb the splashes.

It was a present so I did not purchase it, but I have seen them on sale for £49.99 at most of the places that sell JML products, or you can purchase JML products online from their website http://www.jmldirect.com

Would I recomend it, Yes, if you want an invigorating, massagy bath experience, No if you want to relax and soak for ages. I dont use it everytime I bathe, but do drag it out occasionally depending on my mood.
