I RECENTLY PURCHASED ONE OF THESE JML STEAM CLEANERS FOR THE VERY REASONABLE PRICE OF £29.99 I ORDERED MINE FROM THE INTERNET, BUT NOW THEY ARE AVAILABLE IN SHOPS (I HAVE SEEN THEM IN ROBERT DYAS, WOOLWORTHS AND HOMEBASE SO FAR) IT IS ABOUT 18 INCHES TALL, AND IS A BRIGHTISH BLUE COLOUR. IT HAS A SCREWABLE TOP WHERE YOU PUT THE WATER IN, AND IT COMES WITH A FUNNEL AND MEASURING JUG. YOU PUT IN TWO JUGS OF WATER, SWITCH IT ON AND WAIT FOR APPROX 5 MINUTES.THERE IS AN ORANGE LIGHT ON THE SIDE WHICH ILLUMINATES, AND WHEN THE LIGHT TURNS GREEN IT IS READY TO USE. YOU GET SEVERAL ATTACHMENTS WITH THE CLEANER:
A SMALL BRUSH WHICH IS SUITABLE FOR SCRUBBING AND CLEANING GROUTING, HUB CAPS ETC. THIS IS ALSO GOOD FOR OVEN INTERIORS - SIMPLY BLAST THE STEAM IN TO THE OVEN, AND WIPE AWAY THE DIRT AND GRIME WITH A CLEAN CLOTH OR KITCHEN ROLL
A POINTED ATTACHMENT WHICH IS REALLY GOOD FOR GETTING INTO SMALL AREAS SUCH AS THE AREAS AROUND SINK PLUGS AND UNDER THE TOILET RIM ETC
A BRUSH ATTACHMENT - THIS COMES WITH BOTH A WINDOW BLADE AND A FABRIC WASHABLE COVER. THE WINDOW BLADE IS PARTICULARLY EFFECTIVE AND I CLEANED MY PATIO FRENCH DOORS REALLY QUICKLY AND EFFECTIVELY USING THIS. THE FABRIC COVER IS USED FOR STEAM CLEANING MATERIALS (CURTAINS, SOFAS, CARPETS AND CAR INTERIORS,MATTRESSES ETC) I HAVE ALSO USED THIS ON LAMINATE FLOORING, AND AGAIN THE RESULTS ARE EXCELLENT.
THE ATTACHMENTS ARE EASY TO CHANGE. I HAVE FOUND THAT THE STEAM LASTS FOR A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME AND WHEN IT RUNS OUT OF WATER THE ORANGE LIGHT COMES BACK ON AS A SIGN THAT IT IS TIME TO REFILL IT. ONE WORD OF WARNING THOUGH - MAKE SURE YOU COVER YOUR HANDS WITH A TEA TOWEL OR GLOVES WHEN YOU UNSCREW THE CAP, AS THE STEAM GUSHES OUT QUITE QUICKLY.
I HAVE TO SAY THAT SOME THINGS HAVEN'T CLEANED UP AS WELL AS ON THE DEMOS THAT YOU SEE, BUT BEARING IN MIND THAT YOU ARE ONLY USING WATER AND NOT SMELLY CHEMICALS THE RESULTS ARE PRETTY GOOD
I'm a fan of steam cleaning. It's definately the easiest way to clean an oven, I also like to steam my beds mattress once a month two, to kills dustmites and such. I've not attempted as yet to use my steam cleaner on the windows, prefer vinegar and newspaper for the shine. Ciao for now - J
I agree with what everyone else has said about the caps as they make it really difficult to read. A good review but it needs a bit more info in that you've not said why you thought this was over rated. I've got one and I think it's the business!
