I purchased this cleaner from Amazon online for the great price of just £22 - I had seen demos of the product on the tv and was keen to try it out.
Included in the kit is a measuring cup, funnel, floor attachment, rubber blade, angled nozzle, cloth cover, round brush, straight nozzle, shoulder strap, shoulder strap clips and safety cap hose.
Personally I think you get a lot of different attachments for your money but it can be a bit fiddly changing them around and you tend to use the same one for most of the time.
The item is supplied with a shoulder strap but even when full of water isn't heavy which is great.
To fill the cleaner you simply take off the top and pour in 2 measures of water using the jug and funnel provided. Put the screw cap firmly on - if not completely done up you can easily get sprayed with very hot water so I would advise never lending to anyone without telling them this first - and in about 4 minutes it is ready to use.
The power cable is very long which is fantastic as you can plug it in and wander really far looking for things to steam! It's quite a power trip.
For cleaning the loo, bath, sink and taps I thought it worked well and they come up shiny without having to scrub hard. For more tough stains such as ones on the carpet and sofa you may struggle to clean without using a bit of elbow grease however.
My main problem with the JMLsteam cleaner is the safety button - you have to press both buttons in to operate the steam which is very difficult to do with one hand so you tend to end up spraying for a bit and then wiping over with a cloth to remove dirt which slows you down and means you end up picking up and putting down the appliance a lot which is not too good for your back.
I also find that after about 30 minutes I start to get a blister on my thumb from holding down the firm buttons together which means I have to stop cleaning just as I'm getting into it.
I believe the safety button is a new feature and that earlier models were probably much easier to operate. I understand safety should be paramount but without having three hands I find it all too difficult.
The cleaner's good points are:
it cleans and sanitises without using chemicals which is perfect if your have a baby as you can clean the highchair and kitchen worktops quickly and easily and have peace of mind at the same time.
it heats up quickly
the water does not need to refilled for quite some time
it is hard to tell when the water is about to run out
the safety button makes it very difficult to operate
it doesn't blast stains quite as well as the manufacture leads you to believe
the steam will only last for 10 seconds if you don't take your hand off the button so you have to continually press the buttons up and down
The instructions that come with the JML Steam Cleaner are poor; there is hardly any info at all. Just a couple of pages that let you know what attachment is for what and even that isn't too clear. It is only on the back page of the small booklet that you realise you cannot hold the operating buttons down for more than 10 seconds without having to release and wait for the pressure to come back. For safety I would say the product is satisfactory - as I have mentionned the cap needs to be on very firmly or risk some very hot water spraying out. Also, when using the cleaner it can get quite hot so changing attachments can be a bit scary!
All in all - buy this product if you woudl like your home to be clean and sanitary for a low cost but don't expect amazing cleaning power or ease of use. The steam cleaner does seem study and I think it will last well.
Handheld - Water Capacity:-1 - Max Boiler Wattage:1500 - Steam Pressure in Bars:-1 - without Vacuum Function - without Steam Iron Function - without Variable Steam Regulation
This sounds more complicated than my Dirt Devil steam jug, though yours has a shoulder strap, mine doesn't! I think in general these jugs are actually good, you are supposed to shoot steam and clean manually with cloths and stuff - after all thats what the ad for this machine used to show when it was on the satellite channel. Though we have a frost free freezer, at work we don't and using a steam jug is a safer option than a hair dryer when it comes to getting rid of thick ice. Dont like the sound of those unsafe "safety" buttons though. I always assumed this model was just like my Dirt Devil and had one button.

Hi I also brought one of these thinking that the results would be amazing and as you say it is great in the bathroom and cleaning the work tops. I also found it difficult to hold both the buttons down together and also first time I used it got a blister. This is a great review and totally agree with everything you say. Karena.xx.
