It was earlier this year that, about March time and I was getting really fed up with the state of my house, it was not dirty but some things I could not do anything with, for example the limescale on the shower cubical, no matter how much I scrubbed it i still could not get it off, I was not going to be beaten by this, so I bought a hand heldJML Steam Cleaner.
THE STEAMER
I chose the hand held JML which cost me just under £50. With this particular Steamer you get a range of interchangeable tools these are, a rubber nozzle, 2 small round brushes and a big triangular shaped brush, I believe that you can buy other attachments separately. You also get a cleaning sachet; this is used to clean the nozzle if it gets blocked.
This Steam Cleaner looks much the same as other hand held steam cleaners, looks a bit like a big kettle. It has a handle on the top; on the handle there is the on/off switch and a button to release the steam from the steam cleaner when you are using it.
HOW TO USE
Cold water is put into the back of the steamer; there is a line that shows you the maximum water level. Next choose which attachment you wish to use. (you must do this before using the steamer as you will most probably end up burning yourself if you try to change it whilst steaming) Now you can plug the steamer in and switch it on, and orange light on the top of the cleaner will indicate that it is on. The steamer then takes a minute or two to heat up, and you are ready to go. Just press the button to release the steam.
This steamer comes with a full instruction manual, which is very clear and easy to use.
It worked wonders on my shower cubical, when I had finished it looked like something out of a Mr. Muscle advert! This steamer is well worth buying, it is so powerful, I now use this machine everywhere in the house, its great for hobs and ovens, also any unsightly baking trays, works wonders on tiles and grout in both the kitchen and bathroom also any hard to reach areas such as behind the toilet and round the edges of worktops. I could not be without this cleaner now, it really makes you realize how dirty things were before you used it.
THE VERDICT
I love this steamer it was a great price and it works very hard and saves me lots of time. There is only one downfall that I can find and that is the weight, when the steamer is full it is very heavy and can make you arms ache, its not too bad if you are cleaning something at about waist level but any higher than that and it does take its tole, but I have not used any other hand held steam cleaners, so they could all have the same problem.
I would however highly recommend this cleaner without a doubt. People have said to me that they think steamers are expensive, but when you think how much money you spend on cleaning products the steamer is actually the cheaper option. Also this cleaner will not choke you with is smell like cleaning products can.
