Advantages good value for money
Disadvantages pads are small
I think by now a lot of us has seen the JML adverts for weird and wonderful gadgets for a set price that are sold at different outlets. So last year, when JML first advertised the Microtone I was interested as I thought the £9.99 wasn't a bad price for a muscle-toning machine
So What Is It?JML Microtone is two small pads, which are in the shape of a butterfly. They are about 20cm in length and about 20 cm in width; they come with two buttons on the actual pad, which allows you to adjust how high the electrodes tone your muscles. 1 is a minimum amount of EMS passing through the pad and 5 is the highest amount passing through the pad
I found that using them with the batteries in was better than main operation as you could move aroundThey take the small disc batteries (watch batteries)
You also receive two small black drawstring bags to put your microtone in, if you want to pop it into a bag so that you can take it with youSo What Does it Do?
The microtone aims to tone your muscle by using EMS (electro-magnetic sensors)So What Do You Do and How Does it Feel?
When you first buy the JML microtone you have some suction pads that are on the back of the microtone itself which you press down onto your skin on any muscle of your choice. So, I chose my stomach muscles to see if these pads would be the miracle that would stop me from doing millions of sit ups to get a flat stomach, I pressed both of the microtone pads onto my stomach muscles and set the pads at number 3, and boy it felt weird it felt like you were doing about 50 sit ups each time the electrodes tensed your muscle, so I thought for testing purposes sake I would try number 5 and I could not stand that I must say as it really tenses your muscle about 150 sit ups a minute I would say that this level of intensity is not suitable for everyone, if you are just embarking on this program I would recommend using level 1 or 2 only until you get used to it.
Although I used this on my stomach muscles you can use it on your thigh or arm or anywhere that needs toning although it is recommended that you do not put the pads anywhere near your heart.I must stress these are not recommended for people with any heart condition or with a pacemaker, I would recommend consulting your doctor before embarking upon the use of the microtone to see if it is suitable for you.
The ResultsI had being using this every other day for an average of half an hour since purchase for about five weeks and if I am honest I did not see any improvement in the tone of my muscles.
The lack of improvement on the tone of my muscles could have been caused by several factors. These are,
1. The pads weren't large enough to tone a large area of muscle

Damn! I suppose it does sound too good to be true though, six pack for £9.99. Think I'll save my money and spend them on six pack of beer instead. Rachel x
