I actually got my Ped Egg from a market when I was on holiday, and I paid £5.00 for 2 of these products, one of which my mum used. I purchased a black one, but they also had pink and white ones available to buy as well. It came in all the original packaging and with the 2 buffing pads as well. This isn’t a cheap version of a Ped Egg, as it’s exactly the same as the one on the JML website and has all the same packaging and correct labels on the product as well.
***USING THE PED EGG*** The Ped Egg is like an egg shape and is sits in the hand very easily so is comfortable to hold. If you take the bottom off of the Ped Egg this will reveal the actual blade/file which I think looks a bit like a cheese-grater! The blade/file itself looks as though it’s quite sharp and could cause some damage but when running my finger along it, it’s not as sharp as it first looks. On the TV advert for the Ped Egg it also shows someone rubbing this against an inflated balloon and it doesn’t burst, which shows you how gentle this file actually is.
When using this on my heel it does feel gentle and you can definitely feel the file doing a good job of making heels smoother and softer. I did notice that some of the skin you are filing does end up on the surface when you are filing your foot so the Ped Egg doesn’t collect all the skin, but the majority of it. After using the file on my heel for a while you can definitely feel a huge difference. The skin felt softer than it did before and didn’t look and feel as rough.
After I had finished using the blade/file I then decided to use one of the buffing pads which come with the Ped Egg. These are sticky on the back and you simply stick them onto the bottom of the cover of the Ped Egg.
After using the buffing pad on my heel I couldn’t believe how much softer my heel was. It was really smooth and soft and made a huge different to how it looked and felt before. This not only made me feet look good but because my feet felt and looked good this made me more confident when wearing open shoes and flip flops.
To empty the Ped Egg just simply pull the top of the Ped Egg off. (I advise you to do this over a bin, just in case as the top can be a bit stiff to remove sometimes!). When opening the Ped Egg I was surprised at how little there was in the actual compartment. Obviously the compartment wasn’t very full, and it just looked like dust. I just simply emptied it onto the bit and gave it a tap to remove any excess, and gave it a wipe with a damp cloth. Of course you don’t have to empty it every time you use it but I’m really fussy about hygiene so empty it after I have finished using it.
Obviously don't use the Ped Egg on your nails as this could really damage them!
***OVERALL OPINION*** Since using the Ped Egg my feet have looked and felt in better condition than they have ever felt before. I would definitely recommend this product and you can not only use this on the heels of the feet but you can use it on toes as well if you need to. You won’t be disappointed with the results of this product and it’s a great beauty product to have. You can pick these up for cheaper than £9.99 which is what they are on the JML website. As this is a product for feet I would recommend that you don’t share this item with anyone else (unlike my mum and dad who share this, yuck!).
Advantages: Gets rid of hard skin on feet Disadvantages: Is dangerous to fingernails
...now cos I've got a JML Ped Egg.
I had seen the advert on the telly and was initially horrified at the thought of using what looked like a cheese grater on my feet but then I saw an Extreme Makeover program where somebody actually used a electric sander on her feet cos of her hard skin and I thought if I didn't do something about my feet soon I would be having to pinch my Dad's sander. I can just imagine the conversation
"Dad can I borrow your sander?"
... ...were into woodwork or DIY"
"No Dad its for me skanky feet"
"Where's the nearest psychiatric hospital?"
Anyway I was intrigued by the Ped Egg and asked for one for Christmas. Christmas morning arrived and I was delighted to get one. When I eventually got through all the packaging (there was a lot) I found it was two half-egg shapes with a grater that fits on one half. It all fits together to make an egg shape. I wonder if that's why it's called ...

Advantages: Easy to use, collects the skin shavings, small and compact Disadvantages: The price
...I saw the JML Ped Egg for sale in T J Hughes for nine pounds and 99 pence. Having recently seen it on Ideal World, on the television, I thought this sounded a good price and it seemed a good product to buy. I walk just about everywhere and, at times, I have had foot problems. In fact sometimes my feet resemble rough sandpaper rather than a woman's feet.

Pros and cons, if any.
The Ped Egg is easy to use but I am not sure that the results are that much better than when you use something such as a Scholl foot file, which is much cheaper to buy.
The Ped Egg is smooth to touch and very safe to use.
It is a nice compact product that does not take up much space in the bathroom and will pack into luggage easily, ...

Advantages: It works, lasts for a long time Disadvantages: None
...Ped Egg is manufactured by JML and can also been found for sale on the television like all of the JML product ranges. The Ped Egg is described by the manufacturer as "a revolutionary foot file that is precision engineered with over 135 stainless steel micro fibres. It gently removes calluses and dead skin to give your feet the incredible baby soft look and feel everybody loves." The stainless steel micro fibres to me basically look like a cheese ... ...does not hurt though or is not rough on your skin. If anything, it tickles just a little bit but it does take away the skin without any pain. The file itself is housed in an egg shape plastic shell. The file fits in one side which you can then place in your hand to help you to move the file over your feet. It is shaped like an egg because apparently it is ergonomically designed to fit perfectly in the palm of your hand for easy and convenient use. ...

Advantages: Gives you smooth, callus free feet with a minimum of effort and mess Disadvantages: Prices vary wildly, not quite as tidy as the adverts suggest
...*Enter Ped Egg* JML really do corner the market in 'why didn't I think of that?' gadgetry and the Ped Egg is no exception. Like anyone who enjoyed picking their scabs as a child, the concept of a foot grater is fantastically appealing! The commercial for the product is fairly convincing, although I don't have at my feet with quite the sadomasochistic joy of the demonstrator.. *Shop around - it's a grater, not a gouge...er!* The Ped Egg is sold in ... ...be at around the £10 mark. This is incredibly expensive vs the prices online and I bought mine (I believe it's the same product, but licensed for North America) for roughly £3.50 including postage from eBay. *Grate Scot(t)!* After taking the Ped Egg from its packaging, it was very simple to use. The parts of the product neatly pop together and you're left with a rounded half egg to hold, with a neatly perforated metal plate on the bottom. This plate ...

Advantages: this really works! Disadvantages: looks kinda yuck!
first discovered this product on a US forum and instantly thought it sounded like a great idea- in essence a cheesegrater for your feet! Ok I know that sounds a little disgusting but that is it in a nutshell! I bought this for £7 off ebay and I reckon that is an okay price to pay for what is a hell of a lot better than your average pumic stone. It does initally look a little like an egg but once you open it up you will see the foot grater half and ... ...find that the best time to grate my feet is after a bath when the skin is at its softest and is easiest to remove. Now I have heard some people say that this can draw blood but I have never managed to do that yet so I reckon you must have to be grating your feet pretty dam hard to achieve that! One other word of warning and now this is slightly icky but all the dead skin you grate off does collect in the egg and sometimes over whereever you are doing ...
