I got rather excited when buying my first steam mop... yes i like to keep things clean and am easily entertained, but was rather disappointed at the steam mops efforts. We all are looking for a product that is easy to use - this sure hits the spot. It is easy to set up and easily explained on how you attach the pads, apply the water, change for different floors etc. However, i found that when it came to the actual cleaning part it did not do justice. Sure my floors look sparkly and clean, but i do not know how hygienically clean they would have been. They appeared very wet - more so than when i use a conventional mop and took some time to dry.
I can see how this is good for a floor with laminate or tiles but i would not suggest putting them near any wooden floors as it may streak - i am however, no expert on wood floors.
I feel that they have done a relatively good job on something that is simple and easy to use. Personally i will just stick to simple mopping and use the steam mop only to release sticky stains or marks on the floor before using proper cleaning products over the top.
