We bought this telly a few weeks ago as part of a package deal. It came with a DVD player and a video recorder for £699. Going from a 24 inch telly which had black lines across the bottom of the screen until it warmed up, any new larger TV is going to seem better. This one is a 28 inch widscreen TV, it has a pure flat screen which is supposed to enhance the picture by reducing distortion amongst other things. To me it looks a lot clearer than our old/other tellies.

It has really exceeded our expectations as there were a lot of other packages that we could have gone for at the same price. Obviously I didn't sit and watch/listen to all of the other tv's on sale, but what swayed me towards this one was the grading that it had received. It has an A grade for sound and B for picture quality - Grades are from A to E with A being the best. The sound is absolutely wicked on it, the subwoofer really enhances it something chronic. It has loads of settings e.g 3D Pro Logic, Dolby Surround, Cinema, Stadium etc. It comes with 2 small surround sound speakers aswell which my young son managed to break on the 2nd day of getting them. They were however not that powerful & its just as easy to rig your own up, which we have now done. My husband likes the surround sound, but I prefer the sound when it uses the Subwoofer.

Other features are that it has 3 scart sockets, is very easy to setup & tune & has also has different picture settings, so you can switch to normal size viewing, which i sometimes prefer to do rather than have it at widescreen permanently. You can also move the position of the picture marginally, sometimes i find that when watching cable, text that appears on screen is sometimes to low, so this feature is handy. It has teletext which I haven't used yet. All of the menus are onscreen & easy to manipulate.

The main tv remote control can also be used to operate the DVD & video too which is handy cos you don't want 2 have to swap remotes all of the time. If you want to use basic features the tv remote will control the video/dvd well

I think that for the price and compared to what else is on sale that it is a good deal. The sound is excellent & you can listen to CD's on the DVD player asif it were a stereo. An all round good TV, I just feel sorry for the neighbours now though!!
