The 12 disc CD player was perfect for me because I like allot of different music and I never know what I want to listen to different music when I'm in different moods.
I fitted the changer myself which was quite easy, it's quite a new car. Usually this would cost £80 at Halfords and can I just say that they pay their fitting guys about £5 hourly rate. halfords rake it in. this is a bit of a hint but you can ask the halfords assistant to come round out of work hours and fit the stereo at a reduced price this benefits you and them!
Anyway, the front face comes off which is good for security but never leave it in the car. About 80% of people leave theirs somewhere in the car for example under the seat or mat. And car criminal know this! Always take the face with you. This comes with a carry case so its good and doest get scratched. the face has a tape player which is useful but I think I have only used mine about five times, it is useful if you have an mp3 player you can hook it up via the tape input, but you need to buy a converter I'm sure there are some on eBay.
The changer is quite small so you can put it in the glove compartment if you don't want it in the boot or under the passenger seat. I don't like to put them in the boot because they can slide about and get broken unless you want to drill in your car?
The external changer has 12 slots where you can put cds in but I don not recommended doing this while driving. The main disadvantage I would say is that after I am bored of all of the cds I have put in it's a bit of a chore to take them all out and put them away and put new one on and remember them.
That is another thing because the stereo does not recognise the cd you have to try to remember which number you put the cd you want in.
Advantages: Will not jump Disadvantages: Will not jump
...drive on.
I bought the JVC CH X550 and put in a load of my favourite dance and trance cds and set off for my next job.
I came across a road that had loads of pot holes bumps dips and everything you could think of and the Jvc just carried on playing my cds with no problem at all.
The cd changer is shock proof and has a 3 laser pick up that means 3 lasers are scanning the cd all the time the disk is playing.
The cd changer is attached to some pine ... ...never ever skip.
Buy the JVC CH X550 cd changer and i know for a fact that you will never regret it.
Im updateing my system to the touch screen jvc mp3 player and the mp3 cd changer knowing full well that my cds will never jump or give me any hassle.
Ps i dont work for any mag or Jvc, im just a normal guy just like you are who knows when hes on to a good thing .
