Right needed some new earphones and decided to go all modern and get a pair of in-ear (ones that go in your ear canal) earphones. I was a bit apprehensive as they don't look that comfortable/hygenic. Anyway, saw these for £14.99 in Currys, "bargain" I thought.
1.Packaging Off on a bad foot with me. Its packaged in that really annoying "needs-scissors" plastic. And with me being on a train at the time, lets just say I had a "little" difficulty trying to open it, resulting in me making alot of other train-goers slightly pissed off with my consatnt squeeks and tearing.
2. Contents Right, once you open the bloody packaging you will see that you have a pair of earphones, a pair of spare ear-plugs (standard size), instructions and a warranty. Pretty standard.
3.The Earphones (Design) Basically the earbuds are covered by a small squishy foam sleeve, which "theoretically" you squeeze, insert into your ears, and wait for the foam to expand (like you would with an earplug). One problem: It doesn't work that well. Firstly, after a couple of weeks the foam becomes far too squishy. Secondly, even after the "expanding" part the headphones still fall out VERY EASILY, this being due to the foam being of a slippy material, and only one size provided. Anyways, the cord is good and virtually tangle free (made of a gummy material), but is a tad too short.
4. Sound Great sound. No problems here, all clean and crisp as It should be with very nice bass.
5. Ewwww/Hygiene NOTE: THIS IS PRETTY DISGUSTING SO BE WARNED. If you have normal-high earwax, then these are gross. Wax "collects" in the hollow chute of the foam plugs for all to see, and its not pretty. You have to keep washing them every few days to avoid feeling all minging. Also, Im guessing they push wax deeper into the ear canal which isn't good either. I certainly won't be lending these around to friends :).
6. Overall Well I wouldn't buy these again If I had the choice, Id definately go for something less "deep" and of a better material (rubber instead of foam). Anywya, the sound is very good so they'll do me for now.
