I know that there will be a lot of High Definition cameras and Hard Disk cameras coming on to the market soon but this little camera is good for the family holidays etc. I took the camera to France on a snowboarding holiday and the quality is what you would expect from an older camera, the lens adjusted perfectly to the snow and average the bars dimmer light. I must add ... ...but this is not specific to this camera. This camera is good if you are going to be carrying around in a backpack then taking out and recording quickly. I would definitely recommend this camera for family holidays and day trips. Coupled with a editing program on your PC you can make your videos look really good. The only bad thing i have to say about this is that your computer needs to have a firewire port in order to transfer videos across.
...so to summarise i think the jvc gr d340 is a good camera for all types of peole whether it be begginers or experts. it also has a handy strap on it to . the mic is very good aswell it picks up sound from a good distance. ...
