    This was my first camcorder and my introduction to videography. I still have it but only use it for transferring video to the PC these days. That said it is not a bad camera even by todays standards. It produces clean, crisp video and has a reasonable variety of manual features to enable you to get the best out of it, most notably manual white balance control, which is an absolute must with any camcorder. I couldn't pretend that it can compare with newer cameras, particularly on size and weight, nevertheless if you want an introduction to videography this will certainly do and you shouldn't ... more

    5 Stars Quick review of JVC GR DVL157 by oberstmic 22/08/2007
    I have used this camera extensively for three years in New Zealand, the U.S.A. and in Europe as well as here in the United Kingdom. Its reliability, picture and sound quality combined with image stability and comfortable 'feel' have impressed me greatly, especially as I regularly create DVD length films from footage taken using the Final Cut Express editing programme.
