Its great to have an integrated hard disk drive. Its 40 GB capacity is enough to record 50 hours of video. Just keep on recording and when no space is left, transfer the data to your computer and start recording again. Its really fun!

At last, a review from me of something you can actually buy new !
The JVC Everio GZ-MC200 records your digital video footage on a 4 GB microdrive, a mini removable hard disk instead of a tape. Take good care of this microdrive - it's a mini hard disk - as replacements are quite expensive.
The 4 GB microdrive will let you shoot about one hour of video in MPEG-2 compression at a resolution of 720x576 pixels and a data rate of 8.5 MB/sec (in Ultra Fine mode), more if you turn the quality down.
In addition, the Everio has a 2.12 megapixel CCD sensor (0.28 inches) that can produce still photographs at four different resolutions, with the maximum resolution 1600x1200 pixels. This resolution produces more good quality photos when printed at 4"x6". You can fit 4,500 two-megapixel still images or five hours of audio recording ...
Advantages: Small pictue quality and sound good Disadvantages: Bundled software doesn't work and JVC couldn@ seem to care less.
The camera seems fine however the bundled software is utterly useless. There is a direct copy to DVD feature which will only copy a maximum of 50 files to a single DVD, if your average clip length is 10 seconds you can write a maximum of 8 minutes 20 seconds to a DVD however large, or to put it another way 300 clips averaging 10 seconds, our holiday film, would require 6 DVDs or 28.2 GBs of DVD for 1GB of film. There is a bundled film production program which works fine up until the point when you try and burn the results to disc when you find yourself at an American website asking for $90 if you want to burn your disc. I don't know if by spending the $90 you can actually copy your film to a suitably sized DVD.
JVC seem uninterested that their product doesn't do what their advertising suggests so presumably their legal department is ...

JVC designed the small sized HD Everio GZ-HD10 thinking of the needs of budget-conscious users, but offering a high quality KONICA MINOLTA HD LENS and a 40GB hard disk that provides up to 16 hours of high-definition recording. The GZ-HD10's 1440 x 1080 AVCHD recordings are also up converted for playback at 1920 x 1080/50P via HDMI. The HD Everio GZ-HD10 camcorders can connect to the optionally available CU-VD50 Everio share station with stand alone playback. The HD Everios can also connect to the JVC CU-VD3 share station to offer an even more cost-efficient archiving and playback solution. The combinations offer the world's first PC-less solution for AVCHD and MPEG-2 burning and playback, with AVCHD DVD discs that can be shared with commonly available AVCHD compatible/Blu-Ray players.
