I have rewritten this review (new at all this) and I hope it is more helpful.
I know like a lot of other people out there, I waited patiently for this product and can safely say that the GZ-HD7 delivers on some, but not all, of its promises.
************FEATURES*************
On the plus side I find the focus ring is excellent, and the Focus Assist does make the manual focus very easy.
On the back of the camcorder there is a cluster of image controls. I personnally like the fact that this makes the shutter speed, aperture and exposure compensation easily accessible and pretty efficient.
On reflection I would actually say that it is more like a scaled down prosumer camcorder with the relatively large body, the aray of external buttons, and the focus ring. But I wasn't really surprised, as like a lot of people I knew that this Everio would offer a high level of manual controls.
*****************VIDEO RECORDING**************
The video recording is superb, clear and sharp. The fact that it records video using MPEG-2 compressions that wander up to as much as 30 Mbps in FHD (“Full HD” 1920 x 1080) mode(for those of you who like a bit of technical jargon). (For those of you who don't) I found that it takes a relatively natural video, which I was pleased with.
Another thing I liked was the fact that it seems to be designed for serious high definition performance without a lot of unnecessary features added. I personnaly don't like things to be overly complicated unless they have too !!!
I have a young child and the 720p mode enables this camcorder to take good videos of her running about. Just had her sports day at school and I have to say I found the play back good. Obviously I would have preferred a 1080p , but 720p is better than nothing.
***********NEGATIVE**************
One of the things I have to say I don't like is the stubby height of this product. If you have big hands, the short body forces you to use two hands to hold it. I personally dont like this as it makes me fell uncomfortable using it.
For the real entusiasts out there, the following is a list of some of the specifications of the camcorder ( I haven't gone too deep, as you can get that from any dealer) -

**** OVERALL OPINION ****
Good camcorder. It does have features you don't normally see for Joe Public but I have to say that for £1000 it is alot of money and I really would have been happier with £750. It is good for people who will be taking videos of moving objects or people (like myself with my child).
I must say if I had to do it again I don't know if I would spend this again.
I hope this review is helpful and would be grateful for feedback and a rating.
Thanks

Where is the personal experience of the product? This could have been written from the JVC website specs and I don't find that helpful.
