Advantages Convenient/ Reliable/ Good picture quality

Disadvantages If you need to send it in for repairs you can't play videos or DVDs

I've had this Video/DVD combi for well over a year now and I couldn't be happier! No longer must my room be constantly rearranged to fit in numerous new appliances as this does everything you could possible want it to do!

Firstly - Video features are fairly standard, play, rewind, fast-forward, pause and frame-by-frame watching. Time recording is very useful for when you can't be bothered to stay up late to press record on a film (which I often used to do!) and you can set it to record several programs in succession. However the greatest feature is the ability to record DVDs onto videos in this one machine, though you will need another VCR if you want to copy videos to videos.

DVD features will equally rival most standard DVD players also allowing slow motion, pause etc and providing you with a stunning picture and sound quality. Make no mistake there have been no sacrifices made to produce this beauty and it doesn't look half bad either. All major buttons feature on the front of the box and there's also a small display screen for both the VCR and DVD player.

If that's all you thought it could do then it gets better! If you have a CD with mp3s/ wmas (songs) or jpegs (pictures) then you can listen to them on this or have a slideshow of your latest holiday. I have a few CDs containing all my albums in mp3 format so with the press of a button I can change between albums or create my own playlist (a few buttons need to be pressed for this function).

And that's not all!! The nifty little remote control provided not only gives you access to the VCR and DVD player but, by use of instructions in the manual, can be configured to work for your TV as well!! - so this is especially great if you've lost your current remote! For a neat machine like this you may expect to pay excessive amounts of money but surprisingly, and rather impressively, you can get this from prices as low as £60 though admittedly I had to pay a bit more (I can't remember exactly how much but it's still great value!!).

I suppose the only downside to this DVD/ Video combi is that if it does decide to not work (mine hasn't yet and I don't think it intends to) then you will have to send in the entire box leaving you deprived of both your beloved DVD and Video players. However mine seems to be pretty reliable so far and I would highly recommend this to anyone considering buying separate DVD and Video players or indeed a combi such as this. Ideal for film addicts like me!!
