I have just brought the JVC MG142E and wanted to let you all know what a great little camcorder it is!

Now, I am not exactly what you call an expert in technology but I found this little machine so great to get started with, after charging the battery for the first time, which takes about 1 1/2 hours, it is very easy to get to a point where you are recording.
The first time you switch it on it starts up in Auto mode, meaning the focus, screen brightness etc is correctly selected for you. You can easily switch to manual mode but I have not been brave enough yet!!
It prompts you to enter the date/time setting ...

AFTER A WHILE
Just thought I'll update you, the little bit of rubber by the pluc that I've shown on the attached picture is starting to break (after 3month), I'll see how long it will last. And by the way the chord gets tangled all the time and manages to tie itself in nots. Really annoying, I have to spend 5 minutes just to untangle it every time. So I have changed the durability and overall rating
FINALLY
I would probably buy a different design next time. These headphones are ok but not perfect. I find them too heavy on the ears. If you like the design and the ear hook style they are the best you can get in the shops for the price.

This review looks at one of many netbooks to be released in the UK over the past few months, ASUS's EEE PC 701 SD. The model I have is fitted with Windows XP and has an 8Gb hard drive. I bought it on special offer for £155.
Appearance
The 701SD is absolutely tiny. It weighs around a kilogram and is roughly the same size as a hardback reading book when in the closed position. It comes in a neat box along with instructions,a mains charger, a protective case and a system CD. It has a 7 inch screen which is absolutely tiny but is still perfectly functional. The unit has three USB sockets, headphone and microphone jacks, and SD memory card slot, a small webcam above the screen and a microphone positioned just underneath the keyboard. It has a small touchpad which is small but works in exactly yhte same way as a normal sized laptop ...
