I bought this system after getting involved in mini-disc through a portable recorder unit. I liked the style of the system and it had all the features I was looking for at the time, and the price was reasonable a year and a half ago at 350 pounds. I think it is still around that price now.

I bought this system after getting involved in mini-disc through a portable recorder unit. I liked the style of the system and it had all the features I was looking for at the time, and the price was reasonable a year and a half ago at 350 pounds. I think it is still around that price now. The sound quality from the minidisc is excellent, but the cd is noisy when it is spinning, although this is only a problem when the music is very quite. The tuner is excellent, very simple to use and good reception even without a proper aerial. However the display lets the system down, it is difficult to read, especially if you are looking at the system from an angle. Minidisc recording is simple to set up, and the editing facilities are good with title entry easy although time consuming. The system has plenty of power for every use I can think of, I've used it in several parties and it was capable in even the most rowdy! Sound remains crisp and clear even at high volumes. The system is not full of bass (at least at low volumes) but that's not what I wanted anyway. It has sockets for adding a tape deck, auxilliary input, digital in etc. You should buy this product if you want a good quality reasonably priced introduction to minidisc systems, the hifi is suitable for any bedroom/living room etc. and is easy to use with good sound and features if you can put up with the display.
