Previous Player When I was out looking for a dvd player for my grandparents there were many choices. I myself already have one, being my dvd playback kit for my XBOX. I ended up getting them a toshiba color stream player which seemed pretty good. So in my lifetime I had used three dvd players. First a Apex product, then a toshiba, and all the XBOX playback DVD kit. Apex player did not have very many feature, just basic playback, most movies were in widescreen. The Toshiba being my grandparents was a really nice player but I would not use it often. The XBOX player was a good addition to the game system but took up a controller port, showed most movies in widescreen, and to hook it up to a reciever you needed special expensive cables.
Present Player The whole time though, I had my eye on a silver jvc dvd player. Turns out it was the XV-S72 model, it looked so nice, and the features where very tempting.

My Opinion With the price being around $150 its definetly a steal. I paid about $200 for mine, but I dont regret waiting or anything, there is so much I can do with it, I would have paid $250 if I had too. It only holds one disc, and I like that, the ones that hold up to five really are not that great of a assett, with this one disc you get perfect picture quality. This Player is a great addition to a home theater, it will figuratively knock your socks off.
I feel JVC is a very reliable company, they give you great quality products for a very affordable price. Dont be turned away by their one year warranty, the product will last much longer.
