Advantages: Funny, Sexy, Gritty Disadvantages: Very hard to put down
...I have just finished reading JD Robb’s latest crime book in the Death Series - 'Remember When' - to which she has given a new twist by writing as both JD Robb AND Nora Roberts. JDRobb being Roberts' pen name which is linked to Science Fiction stories and Nora Roberts a name linked to Romantic stories.
Background - The Death series are about a woman, Lieutenant Eve, who has struggled with what life has thrown at her, including a father who she murdered after he raped her one time too many. Now a well respected homicide detective in New York she goes after her man or woman until that person is behind bars or six foot underground.
The stories, set in the future, are not all doom and gloom and are written with a nice mixture of horror and humour. Usually they will have Death somewhere in the title, for example Portrait in Death...

...Introduction
I've noticed quite a few books by JDRobb aka Nora Roberts recently and decided to try one out, although I don't really know much about the author. The blurb on the back of the book looked OK, if a little pretentious; but then more often than not what's on the back of the book is nothing to do with the author. What a mistake. What I hadn't realised is that this series, featuring Lieutenant Eve Dallas, is crime fiction set at some point in the future. Not being keen on science fiction, I would have steered well clear of this. On top of that, there wasn't much else to recommend it.

The American author Nora Roberts has written over 100 novels, 86 of which have been New York Times bestsellers. When writing her series of futuristic crime fiction novels, she uses the pseudonym of JDRobb.

...I am hooked, totally hooked reading JDRobb books.
Author.
JDRobb is Nora Roberts. She is a very successful writer and has won numerous bestseller awards in America. Nora wanted to write something a bit different to her usual fantasy romances so shortened her name and added the initials of her sons and so was born JDRobb and the In Death series.
