The journey of life with Jack.
Review of Jack Kerouac by theblackstar

Advantages: Hey man get with the Beat Generation.
Disadvantages: Can be a hard journey!

...The American writer Jack Kerouac, b. Jean Louis Kerouac, Lowell, Mass., Mar. 12, 1922, d. Oct. 21, 1969. Kerouac, became a general figure in the beat generation, a term that he himself coined. Like nearly all of Kerouac's writing, On The Road is thinly fictionalized autobiography, filled with a cast made of Kerouac's real life friends, lovers, and fellow travelers. Narrated by Sal Paradise, one of Kerouac's alter-egos, On the Road is a cross-country bohemian odyssey that not only influenced writing in the years since its 1957 publication but penetrated into the deepest levels of American thought and culture. I read this book whilst having a summer in Canada. My long term girlfriend had recently split up with me and I felt that my life was going nowhere. I met my cousin for the first time and instantly bonded with him, he lived life for the moment and we spent... Read review
