Not what I expected
Review of Pete Doherty My Prodigal Son. The Extraordinary Story of a Mother's Love - Jacqueline Doherty by lambo2409

Advantages: Shows the reader a truer picture of Pete than the media gives us
Disadvantages: Should be called "Jacqueline Doherty - What God says about my son"

...I have for some time been a keen fan of Pete Doherty, as both a poet and a musician and was excited to see this book come out. I'm not entirely sure what I expected to read inside. I suppose I was hoping to see some excerpts from Pete's "books of Albion" which didn't really materialise, or perhaps just be entertained by Peter's individual charm through the pages of the book. Of course, this isn't what I got. Jacqueline is a good writer. Although her delivery is straightforward and lacks a certain spirit to it (it is almost like reading a school textbook at times) she certainly knows how to communicate with the reader to get her point across. I was surprised (perhaps this is my fault for guessing what would be in the book before I bought it) to find that a great deal of the book was given over to spiritual matters. It is not uncommon... Book from the heart of a broken mother
Review of Pete Doherty My Prodigal Son. The Extraordinary Story of a Mother's Love - Jacqueline Doherty by wshand

Advantages: Well written, seemingly true account of the "Peter Problem"
Disadvantages: Not as close to the bone as some people might expect

...to protect his two sisters and dealing with her proud husband's decision that Pete is no longer allowed to come home and possibly even ending their marriage. she tells her readers of the shame on the family, the indignities she has suffered and the continual media attention. Jackie has her faith in God which has seen her through her worst times and although she talks about it frequently throughout her book, for someone who doesnt really have a religion I understood where she was coming from and found myself being grateful that she had support from somewhere This mother has continuing support for her son despite the media attention all her family receive, despite the times he has let her down, despite her depleting energy due to years of sleepless nights. I have definately learned alot more about Pete Doherty - the stuff you dont read... Read review

This book is the best one by J Wilson
Review of Vicky Angel - Jacqueline Wilson by PreeZ

Advantages: A brilliant book
Disadvantages: You can not put it down

...This wonderful, lively story by Jacqueline Wilson is one not to be missed. It tells the story of a girl called Jade coping with her life after her best friend Vicky has been killed (after being hit by a car). Vicky comes back to life as an angel and can talk to Jade but she starts to stop Jade from doing things that she really wants to do... This book is the latest one released by Jacqueline Wilson and is definitely the best one written by her. This book is worth buying and definitely worth reading. To find out more read the book!...
