Advantages: Good fun, colourful and reads like a rap Disadvantages: Pronunciation of the dinosaurs names can be tricky.
...Bumpus Jumpus Dinosaurumpus by Guy Parker-Rees, Tony Mitton, is a really good read. My four year old son loves this book and wants to know about all the dinosaurs that we see. The illustrations are colourful and typical of Tony Mitton's style, being bright and friendly. It can be read to a really good beat and uses a chorus on every page (although this does change slightly through the book). It is quite difficult to read, the dinosaurs names are a challenge and there are a few tongue twisting parts but once you have read it a few time it gets easier.
There is not much of a story but the dinosaur antics and their associate noises make up for this. Overall it is a very good read....

Advantages: A brilliant book Disadvantages: You can not put it down
...This wonderful, lively story by Jacqueline Wilson is one not to be missed.
It tells the story of a girl called Jade coping with her life after her best friend Vicky has been killed (after being hit by a car).
Vicky comes back to life as an angel and can talk to Jade but she starts to stop Jade from doing things that she really wants to do...
This book is the latest one released by Jacqueline Wilson and is definitely the best one written by her.
This book is worth buying and definitely worth reading.

...***Background***
Tony Mitton has had a lot of experience with children, as he is a qualified primary teacher. His books are full of delightful stories told in rhyme and this one impressed so much that it won a Sheffield Children's Book Award in 2005.
Guy Parker-Rees is the genius behind the amazing illustrations in this book. He has collaborated on many of Tony Mitton's books, as well as sharing his talent with other authors too, such as Dick King-Smith and Julia Jarman.
***The Story***
The story starts with a dog and a cat walking through a wood in the dead of night.
"Bong! Goes the bell in the rickety tower,
Twelve times...that means it's Spooky Hour.
Listen! Hush! Oooh, what's that sound?
The midnight spooks are coming round."
As they venture through the woods they see many strange and creepy sights, including eleven witches...
