Appearance As you can see from the picture the product is presented in a very grown up manner, quite unlike the companies main product 'Strongbow". It looks sophisticated and does not really stay true to normal cider marketing ideals. Perhaps this is to push forward with the new drive to promote more cider sales. Personally I like the appearance and the fact there is not any sign of "olde England" on the bottle. Don't get me wrong I love Britain's heritage but am not keen on it being forced on me by over zealous marketing men. This cider is actually marketed as Belgian cider though. No Belgians in sight though!
Smell On opening the screw cap there is a definite fruity smell emitted and not even a hint of cider. (to my nose) The more i smell it the more fruity it smells.
Taste This is of course the all important bit, after all we might take note of the smell and the way the bottle looks but if it tastes bad we will not buy it again.
Rest assured it is not a disappointment. If you like cider, and I do, and you like lightly fruity and not too sweet alcoholic drinks, which I do in moderation then you are in for a treat.
The flavour is very subtle and does not leave a strong after taste like so many alcoholic fruit enhanced drinks do. The main problem is that One bottle is not enough for two and at £3.48 per bottle it is quite an expensive tipple.
Conclusion This product is very pleasant but I cant help feeling it is very overpriced although ASDA do sometimes have special offers. This is a very enjoyable product and one that I suspect you could happily drink all afternoon at a BBQ and become very giddy without realising it until it was too late. (This is a voice of experience but not with Jacques as it is a little to pricey to have enough of, until the next special offer perhaps???)
So all in all the only criticism is the price. Are you listening Strongbow? My fridge would have more of this product if it was more realistic.
Several non cider drinkers have tried this at my house and now they always ask for it when they visit. The moral of the story is Jacques is very good so keep it to yourselves unless you have the kind of friends that bring some drinks with them when you invite them around. You can have much more Magners in the fridge £ for £.

Having not been much for the Gaymers Pear Cider, I must have been on a mission to try different ones, however it had been recommended to me to try Strongbow Jacques with Fruit. Initially I wasn't reallt that keen on trying it as I never have any blackcurrant or anything like that in my cider, I just have it as it comes. The Strongbow Jacques comes in a 750ml bottle and is available in two different flavours, however it was the fruit one that was ... ...one first. This cider is produced in Belgium, and to be honest I haven't really seen an advertising campaign for it at all, as when Strongbow launched Sirrus a couple of years ago, they threw a lot of money into that campaign and it was widely recognised, however the only form of marketing that I have noticed on this product is basically on word of mouth and highly recommended by many people that have tasted it.
I'm not sure whether it is worth ...

Advantages: Stylish and very drinkable Disadvantages: Expensive
I must admit to being a bit of a fan of Jacques Cider - I love pear cider (the traditional stuff rather than the fizzy product in the supermarkets) but it's quite expensive and not very popular at parties. (The uninitiated fall over too quickly, spoiling the fun.)
Jacques comes in a stylish bottle and is available in two different flavours. I prefer the 'white' to the 'red' (also known as forest fruits) because that's a little too fruity for me, ... ...but more cidery. They're both nicely bubbly and sparkle on the tongue as well as in the mouth. If you're planning to serve them with a meal they will hold their own with most dishes; they refresh rather than enhance so I think they go better with richer flavours that needs the accompanying drink to cut through.
It is an expensive drink when bought at full price, so I tend to buy it when it's on sale. Having said that, it's great to take out socially ...

Advantages: Fruity and Summery Disadvantages: Pricey for what you get.
What Jacques Cider Say:- Jacques Fruits Des Bois is a lightly sparkling fruit cider and is delicious over ice. At 5.5% ABV it is an ideal drink for occasions when you want something lighter. You can buy Jacques Fruits Des Bois in 750ml bottles making it perfect for sharing with friends.
It is made by the same people who make Strong Bow Cider so they must know what they are doing!!
I first had a taste of this about a year ago as it was bought to ... ...I decided to buy a bottle as it is so refeshing, a little expensive but I thought I would buy it as its so hard to come across a refreshing drink.
Its best to drink with ice and it has such a fruity, summery flavour but you can still tell it is alcholic but its not empowering and is perfect for a summer BBQ or party.
Its a really sociable drink!!
Jacuqes have now bought out another flavour called Orchard Fruits which is a delicious blend of sparkling ...

Quick review of Bulmers Jacques Fruit Cider
I started to buy Jacques fruit cider instead of lager at my local pub.
At £4.50 I thought it rather expensive but it was very refreshing.
I bought one at the local Toby carvery and was charged £5.99 . This was bad enough but I understand that it's £6.99 at the Hilton hotel.
Yesterday my local saw their opportunity and put it up to £5.30.
Now this lager is only 5% and hardly wine so how can they justify the price? It's back to lager for me . It's sheer greed and a rip off !!!
My rating is poor because of the cost ...

Quick review of Bulmers Jacques Fruit Cider
I was excited to try this product as I like other strongbow drinks. It is a nice tasting cider however it was sweeter than I expected. This drink is certainly fruity and I would recommend it. However it is fairly expensive but it is worth it if you fancy something a bit different. Great for the summer!! ...
