But is it safe

Advantages: See below
Disadvantages: Takes up rear seat, takes some getting used to fitting

The Jane Auto Carrycot is a classically styled carrycot that can be used on a variety of chassis, from a trendy 3 wheeler to a very traditional sprung chassis, which can also be used in the rear of the car.

Some of you may remember the days when carrycots secured in cars were the norm in baby transport; some of you may have been in those carrycots in those days!! But then along came the infant car seat, and everything changed.

...in comes systems like the Jane Auto carrycot, simply fitted using the cars existing seat belts.

This is no bog standard carrycot either; it boasts features such as externally adjustable backrest positions and an air circulation mechanism that maintains air flow within the carrycot.

So how much will this cost you? Well, the price varies depending upon chassis, but anywhere from £395 to £470 for a complete system.

Quick review of Jane Auto Carrycot

We've bought the travel system, including the auto carrycot, for my daughter's baby due in August. Can anyone pass on any tips as to what sort of bottom sheet we can use on the carrycot as it has two straps coming up through the mattress to restrain the baby and the mattress cover it comes with has slits cut through it to accommodate the straps. I'm getting desperate now time is nearly here for baby to arrive - I can see myself having to get the sewing machine out! Any help on how other people have managed would be greatly appreciated. ...

babies right through to grown up 3 year olds. The backrest position is easy to adjust and can be done one handed. The fabrics used are breathable for added comfort for your little one. Talking of fabrics, the Carrera comes in a variety of colours, some of which are soon to be discontinued and replaced with new ones, at present it is available in Tejano ( a denim blue with beige trim) Titanium ( cream and taupe) and Antracita Vega ( black and silvery grey) The Carrera has a co-ordinating removable fabric hood for extra protection from the elements. The seat unit itself can be removed fully from the frame, which is very useful if you want to team the Carrera with a car seat (Matrix or Rebel) or the lovely Jane Auto Carrycot. All of these options can still be used on the Carrera with the pushchair seat in situ, giving it a great ...

Review of Jane Carrera C

I finally found what I was looking for........

Advantages: Extremely light, compact when folded, stylish appearance
Disadvantages: Foot muff (additional accessory) a little awkward, long lead time on delivery

I had a number of criteria when I was looking for a pushchair / pram and I'm happy to say that the Jane Carrera C has done us proud so far. We combined it with the Auto Carrycot which I won't go into too much detail about, as that comes under a separate section. However I will say, that it attaches to the Carrera very easily (without having to remove the pushair part at all), and offered us loads of advantages. In the first few months Max was facing us in what looked rather like a traditional pram set-up (but with a much more modern style and funkier fabric), and had plenty of room. Plus it can legally and safely be used in the car - brilliant for Max to sleep in when we drove for eight hours up to Scotland! The Carrera is a really stylish looking pushchair. We opted for the Titanium fabric, which is a sort of beige and cream ...
