My wife and I decided to use the Jane Matrix cup for our latest arrival who was born at 29 weeks. Having read all the research about the lie flat position for babies in car seats and being well aware that we would be using the seat for periods well in excess of half an hour stretches we felt that this was the safest way to go. The test done at the special care unit confirmed this for us. Our little one averaged 100% oxygen saturation during the hour long test done by the hospital on him in his car seat and you can't get better than that!!
The seat itself is really well padded and cozy with good harness strap pads and buckle pad to ensure our little one is comfortable. The covers are all washable on a hand or machine delicate wash and are fairly straightforward to put on and take off.
The seat is a really good size, in fact when it's in the upright position it is much bigger than other infant carriers on the market which meant that we did not get the usual problem of little one outgrowing the seat before he was ready to go forward facing. It does take up most of the back seat when used lying flat, but when it's in the upright position it only uses the same single seat as a conventional baby car seat.
Installing the seat did take a little bit of getting used to but once the clips were in position on the seat belts, we tended to leave them there on the seatbelt, it became fairly straightforward. The fit itself was really good and the seat felt very secure in the car. In the upright position the seatbelt goes under the seat which is great for getting little on e in an out of the seat as there is no seat belt passing over the top of the seat to negotiate. Again we got a really good fit and the car seat handle rested securely against the back of the seat which didn't feel like it was going anywhere.
Overall we were very impressed with the Matrix car seat and would definetly use one again. It was a really great place for our little one to sleep, we just gave him a feed before we set off and the combination of the car's movement and the lie flat position meant that we never had a baby disturbed journey during the early months, he just slept through!!

Just getting to grips with the myriad combinations for fitting both the seat (Matrix Cup!) to car and infant to seat... a good review, which could be made better by reference to the helpful YouTube videos showing how to install and use this mechanical jigsaw of a safety device...

Welcome to Ciao, good first review. Would have rated VH had you included the purchase price & stockists for the product, other than that very well reviewed. Linda x
