Review of Taking on the world - Ellen MacArthur by funster73

Advantages: Inspirational and thought provoking
Disadvantages: Editing

...As a keen amatuer sailor I was given the book for christmas...thanks Thomas :o) I found the book very inspirational and thought provoking. Ellen has written the book in her own hand and I beleive it had to be edited down due to the sheer amount of hard work and detail she put into it. I would love to read the whole original text...maybe Ellen should publish this too. Ellen is such a down to earth character and relates such heart warming tales of her childhood and her aspirations as a child through to her sailing single handedly around the British isles. She flew the nest at such a young age and has acheived so much in such a short space of time. A must read for everyone even if you are not interested in sailing.... Read review

Bridging the Gap
Review of The Bridge - Janine Ellen Young by 87degrees

Advantages: Brilliantly written, wonderful descriptions, great plot and characters
Disadvantages: flashbacks

...The Bridge is a very interesting and original sci-fi novel. I find that too often in science fiction, aliens and other forms of life are portrayed as extremely human-like. Janine Ellen Young's aliens are completely different. She shows great inspiration in the creation of another race and expert writing skill in the description of their effect on mankind. ~~~ The Plot ~~~ A race of space-dwelling aliens communicate partly by means of transmitting viruses to each other. They decide to try and contact other worlds by building a bridge. But they can only construct one end of the bridge and need the people they're contacting to build the other. So they send through ships that will spread out across the universe, and one of them reaches Earth. Unfortunately, the message is transmitted by a virus. 90% of the world's population catch... Review of The Diary of Ellen Rimbauer: My Life at Rose Red - Joyce Reardon by Wuschel_F

Advantages: interesting, nice to read, not boring
Disadvantages: ---

..., but during the years such accidents became more frequent, more young girls disappeared, the boys instead were found dead, also one day Johns partner…. …in the mean time Ellen has given birth to her second child. To her son Adam now came little girl named April. Unfortunately April had miss built arms. The little girl had to watch how John's partner hanged himself in Rose Red after John had cancelled their partnership. From this day on April didn't speak a word and Adam was brought to a college as fast as possible so that he was out of the house. Ellen had long known that Rose Red had her own soul and devoured souls to "live" and she knew that she and John would be safe as long as they continued building. They brought ladies with supernatural forces to find out something about the whereabouts of the missing people but then April disappeared... Read review
