I bought this perfume for one reason.......the price! It was on special offer at the 'Perfume Shop' At the time it was 10pounds and came with the body lotion. For me this is a great price as I often drown myself in it- so for this tidy sum, I could afford to use as much as I wanted!
--- The Price ---
This perfume seems to be roughly the same price wherever you buy it from, The 30ml seems to be around 10pounds and is most commonly available with the shower gel all packaged up in a gift box. The 50ml is around 15 pounds.
--- The Packaging ---
The only thing attractive about this perfume is the price tag- The bottle is clinical looking, basically just a rectangular block of glass, with a white rubber lid. The box is also quite plain- when you get the perfume/body lotion pack it has a picture of a lady on the side, the rest of the box is white and if you buy the perfume alone its a very simple white box- not much thought and effort has gone in here!
--- The slightly boring bit! ---
Here are the extracts in this perfume, Top Notes- lemon and ginger. Base Notes- amber and patchouli
--- The Scent ---
Jasper Conran apparently only does this scent for women and so far hasn't released anymore...........and thank goodness this is the only one!
The ginger is highly noticable when first sprayed- which made me wary of using too much, there is also a hint of Amber, but the ginger definately over-powers the other smells in this perfume.
The one thing I really like in a perfume is how long it lasts and after about 5 minutes, the smell was nowhere to be smelt- it had disappeared!
I took the perfume in my bag to work and re-applied it at dinnertime. As soon as I stepped back out to work, my collegues started complaining at the whiff of 'Parma Violets' (those little lilac tablet type sweets) definately not a favourable comparison! Good job the scent wears away after 5 minutes!
If you think you would like scent, then its definately a day-wear perfume due to its inability to still smell strong for more than a few minutes.
--- Overall ---
I would not recommend this scent to any age range- and don't be tempted to buy this for a gift, it does seem good for the price and the perfume/ body lotion pack does look more expensive than it is- but trust me, the gift reciever will probably not like the scent! I have asked many friends and family for their opinion's- only one person said it was nice, and later added it was because it smelt of her favourite washing powder- Daz!! I just hope the men's version is more successful!
Thanks for reading!
