I first bought this aftershave for my partner over 2 years ago, and neither of us have tired of it since. I bought it after a friend recommending it and I am so glad that I did!
THE PACKAGING
Ok, the baked bean tin exterior isn't perhaps the most original casing for a fragrance (although perhaps a useful storage pot!), but the actual bottle of JPGLe Male has become an icon because of it's unique, sexy design. It looks great on display, and I even have an empty bottle as an ornament on my shelf, alongside an empty JPG Classique bottle (the female equivalent, also in an attractive body-shaped bottle but in a dusky pink!). It looks much more stylish than many other perfume bottles around.
THE SMELL
Firstly, it is distinctive. I work in a bar and even in the smoky atmosphere I can still tell immediately when a customer is wearing it! That said, it is not overpowering - it is a light and lingering fragrance. I think the smell is sophisticated and makes me think that it's wearer is equally sophisticated and original - it is much more impressive and attractive than getting a overbearing whiff of lynx! The actual smell is hard to define, and I think this explains some of it's appeal. It is quite a deep, woody smell but is exotic at the same time. It is an instantly memorable, sexy smell and would make a great aftershave for a date! There are undertones of vanilla, which add a warm, sensual dimension to the aftershave underneath the fresher scent of mint.
STAYING POWER
Very long lasting. It is strongest for perhaps the first hour, but like any fragrance it soon dies down to leave a pleasant fragrance, and it lasts all day if not longer. I don't live with my partner but I can still smell it on my bedsheets the next night! It's a lovely, comforting smell.
THE EFFECT
I cannot clinically prove this, but my observations are that women go weak at the knees for it!
SUITABILITY
I think that this is a fragrance for all ages, although personally I would say that it is suitable perhaps for men between 18-45, as it is quite a fresh and modern fragrance. However, I think that it would suit a man of any age who is outgoing. In terms of where to wear it, wear it everywhere! The fact that it is fresh and longlasting makes it great for a day at work - there's no need to worry about it wearing off and t is a masculine fragrance. As I said above, it would also be great for a date as it can be interpreted as quite a romantic and sensual smell.
THE PRICE
If you are after a dirt cheap fragrance, then JPG Le Male isn't the one for you. At roughly £30 for the 75ml bottle, I would not call it expensive though on the range of alftershave available. Considering it is in my opinion so versatile, suitable for anytime and everywhere, and such an attractive smell, I think it is well worth the cost. Also, you do not need to wear much - just 2 or 3 squirts, so the bottle lasts a long time. My partner wears it most days and it lasts him just under a year I would say.
THE CONCLUSION
Go for it! I would highly recommend it from a female perspective, and my partner is equally happy with it and would not still be wearing it if he didn't like it! The many levels to the smell means you never get tired of it. If you are stil unsure, my best advice would be to pop into your local boots or department store and ask for a sample (or most places have tester bottles out on display so you can spray it yourself). Don't be tempted to try on any others, or sniff any more than 2, because then you won't be able to fully appreciate it on it's own. Keep smelling the sample card, or wear it for a little while, and see if you still like it a few hours later, and test its staying power yourself. I am sure after this you will decide to go and buy it!

I think I do actually like this, but my ex used to wear it so I wouldn't want to sniff it on my boyfriend!!
