At my two year old son's insistence, I took him into town this weekend to buy him a new book. We went into the Early Learning Centre First where there was a 3 for 2 deal on. My son picked up The Really Rude Rhino to which I added two other titles which appealed to the sensible mum in me a little bit more.
Having scanned through the book on the drive home, I grew increasingly happy I had bought the other two books as well.

Toilet Humour Review ofWho's in the Loo? - JeanneWillisby
Borg
Advantages: Great fun, hits the spot. Disadvantages: None
...in the zoo (I think, but it not really clear), both asking, 'Who's in the Loo.' There then follows some of their ideas as to who might be taking so long in the loo. For example:
"Is it a stoat
who's making a
stink?
Or a pig who's
washing his pants
in the sink?"
There, it is a simple plot, and not too taxing.
The book was written by JeanneWillis and Adrian Reynolds did the artwork. Willis has other books to her credit, such as 'The Really Rude Rhino,' and 'Grill Pan Eddie.' I think I will be looking out for more of her books!

Advantages: A starting point to discuss manners and politeness with older children. Humorous element for children. Disadvantages: Young children could find the rhino so funny that they begin to copy his rudeness.
...Having a couple of 'rude' children in my Year 2 class, I searched high and low for a short story that would deal with rudeness and the importance of being polite and well-mannered.
I came across this book and the title suggested the appropriateness of this for a short PSHE circle time session but I was not totally overwhelmed by it...........more on this later!
