41 year old Jez started off his broadcasting career on Birmingham's BRMB and after a few years of Frasier style radio shows, Jeremy hosted a show on Capital radio called 'Capital Confessions', much in the style of his current TV show.
Old Jez has had a fair few problems in his life too and his commentary on other people's lives is often informed from personal experience. His ex-girlfriend did naughties with a lady in the same room as their baby, his daughter married a stranger and his brother was a drug addict. To name a few.
*The Show*
Unlike the American chat shows, British chat shows do actually try and help people; the reward of making a numpty of yourself to the nation is a variety of help for the guests including counselling, anger management and support groups.
The Jeremy Kyle Show replaced poor old Trisha on ITV1 at the popular 9.25am - 10.25am slot. You might wonder what the difference is, there are loads of chat shows out there, why choose to watch this one? Well sit tight and I'll tell you. The Jeremy Kyle Show, like the rest of them, gets members of the public with the usual problems, i.e. cheating spouses, unknown paternity and angry kids, all together on a big stage in front of a studio audience and a few TV cameras. The difference to the other shows is that Jez actually cares about helping them.
Jez reminds me somewhat of Kilroy, but is much less annoying. Unlike Kilroy, Jeremy remains neutral until both sides of the story are heard and he encourages his studio audience to do so (he also doesn't sit on his guests). When he has made up his mind he is extremely opinionated and does not let his guests leave without a piece of his mind. In the words of Jeremy "You will listen to me, it's my show and my face on the wall". Quality line.
I think the thing about this show which I like the most is that Jeremy really feels for his guests. Like Rikki, there's a few times you see him choked and a tear in his eye. Like a chat show Santa, old Jez will often offer presents (especially to his younger guests) by way of reward for improved behaviour, I don't necessarily condone this but it is funny that you just know he's getting an earful from some producer somewhere for giving out unplanned free stuff again!
* Typical Shows *
The Lie Detector
Right, for those of you unfamiliar with chat shows and/or the complicated lives of other people; the Lie Detector Test is used to determine who has been 'sleeping' with whom, when they were sleeping with the afore mentioned and, this is the crucial part, if the accused 'sleeper-arounder-er' was on 'a break' with the accuser at the time that the 'sleeping' took place. All a bit complicated I hear you cry! Well that's what Jeremy's beloved lie detector solves, meaning that the darling couples can live happily ever after (please hear my sarcasm!) or go their separate ways.
The DNA test
Now if everyone just followed Jeremy's favourite commandment "Thou must always use contraception" he probably wouldn't have a show. So much 'sleeping' around, so many babies with unknown daddies. Oh dear. Unlike Trisha, rather than condemning blokes for not wearing the correct swimwear… Jeremy tells everyone off and offers help and guidance after the show with his fantabulous psychologist Graham, rather than just giving out test results.
The Naughty Kids
The thing about Saint Jeremy is, that he isn't nearly as patronising to his younger audience members as Trisha is or even dear old Jerry. When the troublesome teenagers walk on his stage he treats them like adults and doesn't sugar coat things or blame everything on the parents (oh Trisha, you never learn). Jeremy may not be psychologically trained but he does know how to speak to young people and how to find out what is at the root of their problems, without casting blame.
* Violence *
Now, no chat show would be complete without its own little spattering of grumpy people. Jerry Springer paid them to do it, Trisha splits them up before they've even breathed on each other but Jeremy has the balance just right. Some of the people on the show have been really badly done to, take the woman the other day whose sister did the dirty with both of her husbands, why send in the heavies before they have chance to air their feelings, better out than in is what I say. Jeremy's guests are given chance to shout, scream and flail from the studio bouncers' arms before they are made to sit down and try the talking cure. Good show.
* Conclusion *
Give it a go, even if it's just to hear old Jeremy say "you are lying madam" or "you are amazing, did you know that?" It'll have you engrossed before you can say floccinaucinihilipilification, (wow I spelt that right first go!) I'm not saying it's quality viewing, it's not but what it is, is a great hour to veg out in front of the TV when you're like me and have nothing else better to do than watch telly and write reviews about the crap you watch! Thanks to Tuftie for recommending I move my lazy behind and write some new reviews!

...a little inaccurate. Unfortunately, our Jeremy possesses none of things, thus fructifying the inescapably alluring monstrosity we all know and love today.
Before about nine or ten in the morning, I'm never completely awake. That is to say I'm perfectly conscious and full of beans, but all of my dreams are still lingering about in my insane head and are very much vivid. But there's nothing like a good dose of the abrasive Jeremy and his dismally ... ...Earth. I've always found the Jeremy Kyle Show to be extremely hilarious, but can understand how it could be correspondingly depressing. Depending on your sense of humour, I'd say that the show will either have you breathless with mirth or on the brink of suicide by lunchtime.

Everyone’s heard of the Jeremy Kyle Show (ITV 2) by now. A judge has called it a form of human bear-baiting and it recently caused another furore by ‘inadvertently’ broadcasting a swear word. The format is simple enough. Kyle, who looks like a cross between a particularly miffed warthog and a premiership footballer whose name I don’t know, invites contestants (‘guests’ is too genteel a word) onto the show to thrash out deeply personal problems in ... ...any guest to whom Judge Jeremy has taken a dislike. I mean seriously – this is a man who can go from practically cuddling someone to stamping on their face with steam coming out of his ears in 3.2 seconds. This in turn makes the whole spectacle deliciously unpredictable. Jeremy Kyle is very open and honest, he is extremely modern in his 'counselling' side of conflicts. He doesn't approach subjects carefully like good old Trisha used to, oh no, he is straight to the point and tells his guests exactly what he thinks. He has been known to shout 'you are scum!' and 'and YOU are a bad parent' and other things that we may be yelling at our screens at home and wouldn't expect the presenter of the show ... ...in the community specials where Jeremy tries to tackle gang crimes and such.
The main purpose of the show is to entertain, don't be fooled! It's not to help sort conflicts it's definitely to get the audience going and when big issues come up and they wheel on Graham then it really gets serious! Graham is the behind the scenes counsellor who comes on to say great words of advice. When he's on the scene you just know that everything is suddenly going ...

...had heard a lot about Jeremy Kyle before watching his show and was aware of his reputation as a formidable 'Shock Jock' challenging people who did not make a valuable contirbution to society as he saw it, particularly focussing upon unmarried parents and people who did not work, yet claimed excessive benefits that he as a taxpayer had to fund. The format from his radio show has on the whole been translated to the television. Jeremy invites peopl ... ...been cheating or not Jeremy does not have a chair, instead he usually perches himself on the stairs of his set, giving himself the air of a 'man of the people'. After watching the show for a number of episodes I have been able to understand how it works. Jeremy usually meets the perceived 'victim' first and listens to their plight, the audience are consumed with this and offer their supoprt and sympathy by listening intently to Jeremy's every word. ...

...all the chat shows is Jeremy Kyle.
The show itself is much like any other chat show in the topics it deals with – such issues as affairs, drugs, alcoholism, family feuds, and of course lie detector tests and DNA results. What make the show different in my mind from many others is Kyle himself, and the way he interacts with his guests.
The guests tend to vary – while some seem like the sort of morally bankrupt unintelligent trolls not even a mother ... ...cry, and she even made Jeremy cry.
Rather than the sweet, softly softly approach used by many other chat show hosts, Kyle’s approach to giving advice is brutal honesty, and I do mean brutal. He shouts at his guests, he calls them up on lies, and thinks nothing of humiliating deadbeat dads into action, or berating violent partners. While his advice is more often than not sound, and clear, its delivery is often abrupt to the point of being rude, and ...

Pick Me Up is a magazine i read on occasion on my lunch break at work but it isn't one of my favourites. It is on sale in most shops for 68p.
The front cover always has really good headlines and makes me want to read it but when you get to a lot of the stories they tend to be overly exaggerated and most of the stories told are very trashy, they also have a lot of American stories in it which puts me off, i want to hear about British real life!
It also has JeremyKyle as the agony uncle, he writes exactly how he talks, its as if someone reads him the letter then records what he says and i find this off putting.
Its not a bad magazine to buy when it is on sale for 40p which it is quite often but i only buy it if i cannot get a better magazine, if you like real life magazine they are a lot better buys out there. ...

is great quality but not too much.
Then you will find a section called HEALTH SOS, 4 pages in total and you find great information in here relating to your health. There is a page where you ask questions and get the answers in the magazine.
Tips on keeping healthyand a true story with a factfile.
A part of the magazine which I find interesting is the JeremyKyle section. This is 2 pages where readers write a problem to JeremyKyle and he replys in the magazine. This is the only magazine JeremyKyle does this for and its brilliant.
One page in the magazine is called photo psychic, you write in to Mystic Mary and she can tell you what the future holds.
As with most magazines there is one page dedicated to YOUR STARS, so you can read your star sign for the week ahead.
Next page gives you a glance at what is in next weeks magazine, which ...

is JeremyKyle from the early morning ITV show. He is pretty god and does not mince his words. What makes his page different i that he has "Jeremys Judgement" where he picks one of the stories in the magazine and comments on it.
Another item that is different from other magazines is the Could you love me? page. No this is not Blind dates or Singles but Animal charities and homes looking for homes for pets and this means parrots ferrets and unusual pets besides cats and dogs. They shw a picture and how to get in touch with this pet.
Puzzles wth the Naked Puzzler is good too with many nice prizes and interesting puzzles. Looking at the list of prize winners you can see a lot of male readers names so its not just a magazine for woman. I probably should not say this but it is one of the very few magazines that you cannot find ...
