Advantages Advantages Slob out TV at its best!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Often repeated themes get somewhat monotonous...

    * The Man himself * My friends despise him, my boyfriend cringes when he hears his voice and my pet hamster hides away in his fluff at the sight of him. But please, hear me out, The Jeremy Kyle Show is the way forward. 41 year old Jez started off his broadcasting career on Birmingham's BRMB and after a few years of Frasier style radio shows, Jeremy hosted a show on Capital radio called 'Capital Confessions', much in the style of his current TV show. Old Jez has had a fair few problems in his life too and his commentary on other people's lives is often informed from personal experience. His ex ... more

Advantages Advantages Makes You Feel Good About Yourself

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Full of Scum

Let me first describe a little bit about Jeremy Kyle as this is his show after all. His media career started in radio broadcasting. Initially he was a part time life insurance salesman and involved in radio advertising and through this channel of work he secured a job at Invicta FM in 1996. Then he moved through the many radio stations having stints at Virgin Radio and Capital FM. Then in 2005 his popular Jeremy Kyle radio show was transferred into a morning TV show with the same name. If you have seen shows like Trisha and Jerry Springer and shows of that sort then this is essentially what ... more

Advantages Advantages Jezza certainly doesn't hold back!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Where do I begin . . .

The eponymously baptized "Jeremy Kyle Show" has become something of a legend in recent times. The format is simple - suitably self-important, insensitive host invites various "disadvantaged" members of the British public onto his show to sort out their (numerous) scrapes. It certainly doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out that the ideal person to present a programme like this would require not only a certain toughness, but a little flexibility, compassion and the ability to recognise that their initial judgement was perhaps a little inaccurate. Unfortunately, our Jeremy possesses none of ... more

    Advantages Advantages Daily Express-baiting madness

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Daily Express-baiting madness

Everyone’s heard of the Jeremy Kyle Show (ITV 2) by now. A judge has called it a form of human bear-baiting and it recently caused another furore by ‘inadvertently’ broadcasting a swear word. The format is simple enough. Kyle, who looks like a cross between a particularly miffed warthog and a premiership footballer whose name I don’t know, invites contestants (‘guests’ is too genteel a word) onto the show to thrash out deeply personal problems in front of a TV audience of a few million, in exchange for his sagely advice and a night in a cheap hotel in Manchester with free run of the mini-bar ... more

Advantages Advantages Sometimes they have the rare good episodes

Disadvantages Disadvantages Repetitive on the same old problems

Jeremy Kyle show is meant to be a chat show with guests appearing to talk about various problems in their lives and then the host Jeremy Kyle goes ahead and tries to find the truth and ways to patch up the problems. Well this is how it was described to me but sadly I fail to see the reason behind the show. The host to begin with might be someone is not afraid to voice his opinion but sometimes you wish he would shut up and let the guests speak. During a show you could find a couple bickering and he interferes with his yelling and his constant shouting at the guests and he usually picks a ... more
