Jessica Nails is a well known and recognised nail company in the industry. Jessica was recognised as 'The First Lady of Nails' and opened her first salon in 1969. Her reputation as an innovator was clearly established when she developed her system and customised solution products for natural nails. The Jessica Nail Clinic attracts celebrities, socialites and political figures from all over the world. Located on Hollywoods famous Sunset Strip and the clinic is known as the place to go.
All nails are not created equally - just as there are different types of hair and skin, there are also different types of nails that require individualised treatments, so this is why Jessica Nails created several custom strengthener basecoats for each individual nail type.
The basecoat strengtheners available with Jessica Nails are:
Bend Don't Break - this treatment strengthener is recommended for Brittle Nails which are very hard, inflexible, may be curved, tend to shatter
or break high on the nail. It is also recommended for nails that break easily which are thin, fragile, prone to splitting or breaking and need extra support to grow. Bend Don't Break can be used on normal nails too. It hardens nails on the outside, makes the nails flexible on the inside. Increased flexibility stops nails from breaking so they bend instead.
Fusion - recommended for peeling nails - this can occur in all nail types, this problem must be treatmed with care and you should never file on the peeling area - apply basecoat and leave to grow up. It stops nails from peeling, chipping and flaking, rubberised resins fuse the delicate layers of the nail together and helps strengthen the nail.
Restoration - recommended for damaged nails such as post acrylic, thin, weak, cracked or lacking luster and the nails show no sign of new growth. This is an excellent after acrylic treatment, it restores and rebuilds damaged nails from the foundations to the the surface.
Critical Care - recommended for peeling or weak nails, peeling can occur in all nail types, weak nails are soft, weak, lifeless and won't grow. This is a basecoat for weak nails, it has an intensive complex of Keratin, Soy and Wheat Proteins with Calcium, which hardens severely weakened nails and helps to strengthen the nails.
Rejuvenation - recommended for dry nails which lack moisture, they may have pronounced ridges and/or spots or a powdery finish. It adds much needed moisture to nails, had an intensive complex of protein KSW, Jojoba, Vitamin E and water condition and heals nails.
Recovery - recommended for brittle nails which are very hard, inflexible, may be curved, tend to shatter and break high on the nail. It restores suppleness and alleviates breaking, its moisturising protein, calcium and water complex increases flexibility.
Reward - recommended for normal nails, which are pink, strong, smooth and flexible. It maintains healthy, normal nails, it is a vitamin rich therapy which includes Vitamins A,C,D & E and natural botanicals.
Life Jacket - recommended for weak nails which are soft, weak, lifeless and won't grown and also for nails that break easily which are thin, fragile, prone to splitting or breaking and need extra support to grow. It is instant support for nails that easily break, its natural fibres cushion the nail to protect them from breaking.
Diamonds-Endurance - recommended for weak nails that are soft, weak, lifeless and won't grow ans also for normal nails that are pink, strong, smooth and flexible. It is formulatd with genuine diamond particles and is a protective basecoat that makes nails super strong and helps prevent breakage.
Flawless - recommended for nails with ridges which are inmooth, ripply in appearance, have imperfections and have an unslightly surface. It hides ridges and imperfections and protects and stengthens the nails.
Liquid Strength - recommended for weak nails that are soft, weak, lifeless and won't grow. It boosts nail growth and its highly concentrated nail fortifier helps thicken the nail plate and corrects nail weakness.
Pure Maintenance - recommeded for normal nails that are pink, strong, smooth and flexible. This is a healthy nail maintenance, it protects and maintains flexibility while preserving moisuture levels in the nail.
Once a nail condition (Peeling, Weak, Breaks Easily or Ridges) improves, treatment must change back to a specific nail type (Dry, Brittle, Damaged or Normal). This can become quite costly as the nail varnish lasts quite a while, so you can be buying one, then the condition improves and you need to buy another when the other one has ran out, and it is very important you do this too as your nails will just go back to square one, if treating a condition that is no longer there.
The bottle is about 15ml/0.5 fl oz, which is a normal sized nail varnish bottle. It is a squared shape and is clear with a black lid - Jessica Nails and the custom condition or nail type is stated on the bottle in black. It is recommended that you clean the bottle neck with nail varnish remover regularly to avoid build up and the bottle lid sticking to the bottle. The nail varnish is easy to use, which a good sized brush. The varnish doesn't turn gloopy or clog up the brush. If the varnish starts to get thick, put a drop of nail varnish thinner in and shake well. To prevent this keep nail varnishes out of direct sunlight or warm areas.
To apply you should start with a clean, dry nail (remove any dirt or previous nail varnish with an acetone free nail varnish remover), generously apply treatment basecoat using 8-10 strokes. If desired you can apply a colour ontop after you have left the basecoat to dry for several minutes. You must make sure you let the basecoat dry before you apply another layer otherwise the lower layer will not be able to dry and can even lead to fungal infections as you are giving it a nice warm damp atmosphere to live in. You should polish uner the tip of the nail and over the nail, sealing the edges. This encases the nail and protects it from breaking or chipping.
The nail varnish costs £7-15 in salons depending which one you choose, but could be brought on the internet for a cheaper price, but you may have to pay postage and packaging. It is always better to get it from a salon, as you can get the correct custom treatment for you adviced by a professional. Although this seems alot to pay for a nail varnish, it is cheaper than alot of other salon brands and is worth it. I think it is worth it because these products really work and strengthen your nails.
Jessica Nails also provide at home nail treatments kits for peeling and weak nails. These can also be found in a salon. It is
I would recommend these strengtheners to anyone with problem nails or even if they are perfect - to keep them in tip top condition.
