Advantages: collect free swapits and buy goodies with them Disadvantages: things can be expensive and auctions mean you dont always win
My son has been a member of swapitshop for a few months now and has only ever won one item. Thats is because although he has swapits, which are like credits, he has to bid for the items he wants and he always gets outbid.
A lot of the items for sale need a huge amount of swapits so the only way you can get more swapits is by selling your stuff on the site or getting free swapit codes from magazines like kick, top of the pops, Jetix, Kraze or from top trumps or stabilo.
If you look on www.swapitsforum you can get codes for free swapits but it won't be enough to buy a console game from swapitshop.
If you sell an item on swapitshop you will have to post it to swapitshop and they will forward it to the buyer, which means that you have to pay postage twice because swapitshop ask you to include a postage paid envelope to post the item to ...
Advantages: Power Rangers theme Disadvantages: Limited play value
book' fashion.
During his Power Rangers obsession, my son collected quite a number of plastic characters from the series. He actually has all the different coloured Rangers from this particular series in smaller hard plastic figures and did get a lot of pleasure from make-believe games with the figures. One thing that he kept on and on asking for was one of these stretchy power rangers which seemed to be advertised on Jetix constantly! I just had visions of this being one of those expensive novelty toys that was played with once and never again.
My son did genuinely want one though and continued to ask for one so, eventually, pester power ...
Advantages: Perfect for kids of all ages - Must have for any CareBears fan Disadvantages: none that we could find
we bought the video of this from somerfield for £5.99 but she received the dvd in a tripple pack of dvds including rainbow brite (another old fav) and some remake of sleeping beauty for christmas.
The dvd is made by JETIX - which is a cartoon channel on sky and perhaps cable television (although no episodes are shown on the channel)
It is exactly the same as the video - no hidden extras as many dvds have.
The DVD includes 6 episodes and is 1hr and 6 mins long (so that is 11 mins each episode - which is about right to keep a young childs attention)
The episodes include:
01, The Magic Shop
02, Mayor for a day
03, The Night the stars went out
04, Concrete rain
05, Dry Spell
06, Drab City
In each episode something bad always seems to happen, and the care bears are always there to help and put things right. They explain why ...
