The best thing about Jif Mousse is the smell, which is subtle yet pleasantly fresh and minty. I might have guessed this because it is called "Mint Fizz". The mint definitely masks the medicinal odour, or possibly has eliminated it altogether.

I have never been a hyper-tidy type of person. It's hard to keep things pristine when you live with someone else who is also vaguely slobby, and you both work full time. I understand some people clean as a hobby- like that woman in America who wrote a whole book about the joys of housework. To which I say, fine, if that turns you on. As for me, I have better things to do with my time, but I do draw the line at living in squalor. This was the state of the house this morning. So while the Boyfriend escapes to play cricket, I seize the opportunity to do some vigorous and cathartic cleaning.
The main challenge is the upstairs bathroom. We had a friend staying recently while he was looking for a flat, and he ingests a number of strong medications. As a result, the bathroom retained a significant and vaguely unpleasant medicinal pong. In order to sort this out, I decided to apply a heavy coating of Jif Bathroom Mousse.
Now, let me say from the outset that I have never had any particular brand loyalty to any cleaning product. As long as it smells OK and doesn't irritate my eyes or skin while using it, fine. But I could not recall ever using this type of Jif before, and certainly not one with a minty fizzy smell. So with my Ciao Hat on, I don rubber gloves and head to the loo to see how this bathroom mousse would perform against the Medicinal Pong. OK, so cleaning the bathroom is maybe not the most exciting thing in the world to review, but I figured this would at least make it a mildly entertaining experience.
The best thing about Jif Mousse is the smell, which is subtle yet pleasantly fresh and minty. I might have guessed this because it is called "Mint Fizz". The mint definitely masks the medicinal odour, or possibly has eliminated it altogether.
To use Jif Bathroom Mousse, shake the bottle well, and holding the nozzle pointing downwards as per the instructions on the label, squirt the stuff wherever needs cleaning from a distance of about 15-25 cm. Personally, I don't know how to measure that out without getting out my little tape measure, but I did notice that the consistency of the mousse is affected by how close you hold it to the surface. You can shoot it out in a jet stream, or aim for a wide splatter coating. It does come out quite forcefully, so make sure you are aiming the nozzle in the right direction. If you do get it in your eyes, rinse immediately with lots of water. The texture of it resembles shaving foam, or perhaps if you are delusional and hungry, whipped cream. I like this, as it is kind of fun to make little whirly patterns with it over the bathtub…(ok, so I am desperate and sad).
You leave it for 5 or 10 minutes or so while you go off to hoover the living room or make a cup of tea, or whatever. In that time, the Jif Mousse molecules do their little cleaning dance eradicating stains, bad smells and limescale. On your return, simply rinse with running water or a damp sponge, and hey presto. No scrubbing away, making your arm tired and wearing out your little fingers. A glistening clean bathroom without the sweat. Almost as good as having somebody clean for you. Or if you are the Boyfriend, as good as somebody cleaning for you, since somebody actually is!.
Jif can be used on plastic, enamel and chromed surfaces. It definitely wipes off easily, especially if you have left it for the recommended few minutes. There is no streaking and it does not leave any sort of icky residue. Nor does the odour of it cling to your hands or clothes, though wearing gloves is always a good idea if using cleaning products.
I confess to not knowing the price of this product, as I did not do the shopping last week, but I'll have a look when I am next in Tesco or Safeway and provide an update. A bottle contains 600 ml.
Like most cleaning products, Jif contains all sorts of chemicals, and according to the canister, the aerosol contains butane and propane, but it doesn't list the others. If you really are keen to know more about what the ingredients are, or discuss any other aspect of the product, you could probably phone the freephone helpline with your comments or questions and have a chat about it with one of the Homecare Team.
Of course this product should be kept out of reach of children, and stored safely. Under no circumstances should you expose the bottle to flame or pierce the bottle with sharp implements, or burn it after use. This may seem obvious, but you know, people do wacky stuff, like the time my friend's brother's cousin tried to ….no, let's just not go there.
I can happily report the house is now clean, at least until the Boyfriend returns and dumps his smelly cricket stuff all over the place. Maybe I should go check out some Member Advice on Relationships to practice my coping skills prior to this happening.
Advantages: Easy and quick to use Disadvantages: smells strange
I, like probably everyone out there is not a fan of bathroom cleaning(nor do i ever have the time to do a proper job!) but when i brought Cif bathroom mousse that all changed. It really does do what it says on the can unlike many others available.
I brought it on offer for 99p at Superdrug, for that price i thought it was worth a gamble, it could'nt be any worse than the others but in fact it was excellent and left me with more time to spend with ... ...brought 'mint fizz'. the smell has to be the one downside with Cif bathroom mousse as it does smell like mint but it is like mint mixed with hair dye.....not very nice at all!!
The packaging itself is great, with its bright colours and excellent picture of mint leaves it is definately eye catching, which is what originally caught my eye!
The bathroom mousse is easy to use and has easy to follow instructions on the can. All you have to do is: shake ...

Advantages: easy to apply and very little elbow grease required for a clean shiny bath Disadvantages: Mint scent is appaling, can quite heavy may make its uses difficult for arthritic hands
...I have been using Jif mousse for quite a while, but today armed with my new fragrance Cif I thought I would really put it to the test.
So having raken the dog on a long muddy walk, bathed myself, a very dirty 2 year old, 2 cats (yes cats) and a very muddy dog, I set about the bath. (Please not we did NOT all use the same bath water, the bath was rinsed and clean water drawn for the cats and dog)
So you can imagine the state of my beautiful pale ... ...mucky, is an understatement!
I followed the instructions on the can to the letter, shake well before use, hold can upside down and spray from a distance of 15-25 cm. The bath was soon coated in a thick layer of creamy foam, with a ‘mint fizz’ scent. The spray itself is very easy to operate, hold finger on the lip of the nozzle and spray. The spray covered the bath area very well, and had a wide arc to the spray. The instructions on the ...

Advantages: None to me Disadvantages: Some I suppose
...the name of all their Jif products to Cif they probably didn’t realise the connotations that the new name would have for many people in the UK and in particular ex and current servicemen. Cif is the slang or abbreviated term for syphilis, a well know venereal disease. My first reaction to the news was that I don’t fancy cleaning my bath or sink with syph, sorry I mean Cif.
However not put off by the new name I decided that the new bathroom ... ...when cleaning the bath etc. A 600ml aerosol spray can for £1.98 in Asda seemed rather expensive but if it meant no more leaning over the bath to clean and paining whilst doing so it would be worth it. The can is a comfortable fit into an adult hand and the Lime Zest flavoured variety comes in a green and silver can standing 27cms tall.
The claim for Cif bathroom mousse is, “Brilliant shine without rubbing.”
The contents are, according ...

Advantages: Works like a dream when you use regularly Disadvantages: Makes you seem silly when you first use it especially if you are me
Next product from the cleaning world that I have decided to try and test is the fantastic Cif Mousse, yes this has been on the market for many years but I remember using it at my mothers when I lived at home and was not a great believer in spray and simple shine.
Anyway as I am a lover of mint I thought that I would try out the new fragrance that Cif launched to go along with the name change and also for the fabulous free offer of an eye test, after ... ...a bit strained. The can is huge and stands at about a foot tall with a little dome lid very sci-fi if you ask me. For £1.99 you get 600 ml of cleaning product that smells absolutely gorgeous.
How to use ~
Before using this product shake the can well to ensure that you give that foam a good old stir. Now with the can held upside down frantically spray (about 15 – 25cm away) your bathroom suite until you are happy you have covered everything, I tend ...

This product is now called Cif bathroom mousse
I wasn't going to review this as i had given up using it! However browsing through Ciao i was suprised it got such glowing reviews.
WHAT IS IT?
A miracle bathroom cleaning mousse that you simply spray on, leave for five mins then simply rinse! No rubbing!

i i can safley say this is one of the most dissapointing products that i have used EVER!
I sprayed the mousse on left it for the ... ...i gave it another aplication left it again then rinsed gleaming i thought.
I presumed that my bath must have been too dirty so i started to clean my bath more regularly nope even after one bath this product was still needing to be aplied twice before every trace of dirt was gone after rinsing. I told my mother of this as it was her who had recommended it to me. Did you wipe it she asked! No i did not i replied as that defeats the whole purpose of ...

Advantages: plenty it really works Disadvantages: none
Well Christmas has come and gone as fast as it could have and the christmas tree decorations are starting to get on my wick. After going up to the bathroom I decided it was time for it to have a good scrub all over.
Off I popped to my local Spar and bought my old favourite Zoflora for the floors to make the house smell so clean. MMM But now I need something for the bathroom sink and loo and bath and was perusing along the shelf and this little number was shouting, Oi, come and get me girl. At first I looked at this yellow peril cannister and thought, oooer its JifBathroomMousse, then I looked again and well it was Cif the new daft name for the product. Oh well I wonder how much it is in here I thought, the bathroom is well past its clean by date.

Once again in search of a product that would make my task of cleaning the bath (my worst job apart from the toilet) an ease or a breeze?whichever make my life easier I plea.
I looked down the cleaning products aisle with a brief glance and spotted the word CIF is this the Jif I knew of yesteryear.

There are quite a few of these, some of which I have listed below:
* Cream with bleach
* Bathroommousse ~ lemon and ocean
* Oven cleaner
* Power cream
* Stainless steel liquid cleaner
* Wipes ~ lemon and ocean
☼☼☼ My Verdict ☼☼☼
* Smell
Average ~ clean and refreshing but doesn?t linger as long as I would like!
* Cleaning capabilities
Very good but a little more ?rubbing? and work is required than the manufacturers suggest.
Another thing against this product is that many people nowadays prefer products that have anti-bacterial agents in them of which I have one in my cleaning cupboard. I know that a lot of my friends with babies and young children are very 'in to' products like Dettol and wouldn't even entertain this.
* Value for money ...
