Wandering around the supermarket in May, I found a mini bottle of John Frieda Frizz Ease Glistening Crème conditioner and knew it would be ideal for my holiday. After all the sun & swimming tends to dry your hair out plus the humidity in Mexico does your hair no favours.
I have long straight hair but on holiday it is prone to waviness from the humidity. I bought this conditioner to use in the evenings after my daily shower so that I’d have nice sleek hair in the evenings.
The bottle I bought is tiny (50ml) – it’s ideal for popping in your wash bag to take to the gym, slipping into your weekend bag if you’re going to visit friends or take on holiday with you as I did. However, it is also available in a larger bottle, perfect for home use and it works out much cheaper. I paid £1.50 for my tiny bottle but it lasts well. I have been using it at least once a week for 2 months and there is still some left. The larger 250ml bottle costs about £3.30 in supermarkets (I checked in Asda for when my little bottle runs out) or £3.99 in Boots. To me that seems expensive for a conditioner but it’s worth every penny because you only need a small amount and it leaves your hair looking great.
The first day in Mexico was the real test. I was hot and frazzled and didn’t want crazy hair so I slipped into the shower and washed my hair, following it with Frizz Ease Glistening Crème conditioner. Simply apply a small amount – I find that with my fine, straight hair I only need a 20 pence piece sized blob but you might want to apply more for thick, dry, wavy/curly hair in order to really moisturise your hair. Smooth the conditioner all over (in particular the ends of your hair since this is the area that gets the driest) and leave for about a minute, although you can leave it on longer if you wish. After that, rinse until your hair is completely clean.
The conditioner smells nice while you are using it but it’s a very delicate scent so once it has been rinsed off I can no longer smell it. That might be due to using for so long – just like using a perfume over and over.
I noticed straight away that my hair felt strong, sleek and was much easier to comb than usual. It was a lot smoother than other conditioners leave it feeling when my hair is wet. The real test however was how it dries and whether the effects last.
I dried my hair with a travel hairdryer, not especially worrying about straightening it properly and it still went incredibly sleek. Although my hair might usually be a little dry from all the drying, this conditioner leaves it lovely and smooth and soft feeling. It never leaves my hair frizzy, no matter how hot the hairdryer is.
Afterwards I went out into the humid Mexican air and my hair remained straight all night, which is great. On other holidays my hair has ended up wavy by the end of the evening if not before. Not so after using this baby!
Impressed by my gushing compliments, my boyfriend (who has wavy hair) tried the conditioner because he felt his hair was a bit dry from sunbathing. He found it made his hair more manageable and nicer looking too.
I always use this conditioner before a night out in order to get lovely smooth, straight hair. If you’ve got unruly wavy or curly hair it won’t miraculously straighten it but it is guaranteed to leave your hair sleeker, smooth and shiny and glistening with health.
Advantages: great smell, leaves your hair soft and shiny Disadvantages: can be difficult to find even in major stores
I've got naturally curly, very thick and consequently dry and frizzy hair. I've tried many many many conditioners over the years and this is the best that I've found. I've tried a few of the Frizz Eze products over the years and never found them to be much use and expensive.
I discovered the Glistening Creme on special offer in Boots a few months ago and was amazed at the difference it made to my hair. It's not essentially a leave-in conditioner ...

Advantages: great for permed hair Disadvantages: the expense...if you have to use it a lot
...of the others from the John Freida range), I was spending enough to keep a small country afloat...weekly. So it's no wonder it's HAD to stop sonce the birth of my son.
I had hair though that most women would (and sometimes) did envy...What I think a lot of people with shorter or short hair don't get is how much time it took to get my hair pinned and curled and styled and kept split end free. I smetimes wished for short hair....But I loved the John ... ...and retro. It was like conditioner...I used it as such obviously, but i felt it was a lot better for my hairt than every day stuff.Again, it didn't interfere with the styling products I used, but there again, it could have been because I was using the complimentry stuff within the range. Overall I loved it...As normal conditioner it was great...I used it every three days because it was the only way to keep it managable...until I had it all chopped ...

Advantages: really shiny hair, frizz under control Disadvantages: not heat protected
...I decided to try the John Frieda Frizz Ease products. I was abit sceptical of the price because they cost about £5 per product. Through time I bought the Shampoo, Conditioner. Hair Serum and Curl Relaxer (the chemicals have wore out of my hair and its still quite curly). I must say they leave your hair really smooth and shiny. The best my hair has been in a long long time!
The Shampoo.
The shampoo comes in a white bottle with blue writting on it. ... ...smells a bit like a hair salon. It doesn't lather up much so you have to use a fair amount if you have long hair (like me). It is used just like a normal shampoo, put it on and wash it out. It leaves your hair smooth even when it is still wet.
The Conditioner.(Glistening Crème)
This comes in the same style bottle as the shampoo but it is a silver bottle as to a white bottle. It has a little white pump on the top. This is also white and creamy but ...

Advantages: super shiny, soft straight hair Disadvantages: leave it on for too long - might look greasy?
...this up by using the john frieda hair serum, then i blow dry my hair and then i take the hair straightners over my hair and thats me got the sexy shiny straight hair i'd love to have naturally.
i do think it all depends on your hair type ie dry, greasy....etc for the amount of time you leave the cream in for, but id say definately leave it in for 15 minutes to get the full result of the product ...

I have curly hair, which I wear straight more often than not and am cynical about products which promise to fight the frizz, but I was pleasantly surprised with this one.
My hair is quite long, fine in texture and prone to split ends due to me torturing it straight almost every day. I must have spent a small fortune on shampoo and conditioner over the years but have never managed to find anything I want to buy again and again. However, I must admit ... ...times. It's a great everyday conditioner and does wonders for my tatty mop - leaving it tangle free, shiny and soft. When I use it I also have an easier time blow-drying my hair, leaving it sleeker when I've finished styling. This product is also useful when I leave my hair to dry naturally as it helps form frizz free curls. It is a rich and creamy conditioner that smells quite nice and you don't have to leave it on the hair for too long for it work ...
