Who is John Frieda?

John Frieda is a internationally known hairdresser yet is probably better known for his range in hair care products these days. Well ladies if you were to ask me what my specialised subject was to be………….Then I would have to say it was turning my lounge into my own personal hair salon with disastrous consequences. You are catching my drift aren’t you, I am the queen of dry and frizzy looking hair. My problem is that I get bored very very easily. When I am brunette I want to be blonde and when I am blonde I want to be brunette. And when I get really bored I throw a red in there for good measure. Now I can pretty much say I have tried most hair products on the market if it says “for dry frizzy hair” or “colour treated hair” then I assure you it has made its way into my trolley. So I know what I am talking about when it comes to making a pie bald mess look half decent again. I don’t even what to think how much I have spent on hair care products up to the £20 mark for some good KMS stuff. But I always return to my “ole faithful” which is John Frieda Frizz Ease Serum.
Who is John Frieda? ------------------------- John Frieda is a internationally known hairdresser yet is probably better known for his range in hair care products these days. He has been a hairdresser since 1970 so it is safe to say he knows what he is talking about. In 1998 he created his own range of hair care products and then in 1990 he created the god known as “frizzease”.
Ok so what is this Frizzease? ------------------------------------ Frizz ease is what we call a hair serum. It is made up of blended silicones which help make our hair appear smooth in appearance. It is really clever stuff because if you have curly hair it defines your curls so there is no frizz and if you have straight hair then it gives it a smooth glossy appearance and in my case an almost healthy normal looking appearance LOL.
So how do you use it? --------------------------- Well it is very simple you wash your hair with your usual shampoo. Then you condition with your usual conditioner , see it is very easy so far. Then once you have washed out your conditioner towel dry your hair. Once you have towel dried your hair and all the excess moisture has been squeezed out place a pea sized amount into the palm of you hand. Now this is where I must add this varies hugely. I have shoulder length hair which is very thick and there is lots of it, so I usually use about 5-7 pea sized amounts to get a frizz free appearance. But obviously this will vary depending on the length, condition and thickness of your hair. You then rub the Frizzease in the palms of your hands and apply all over your hair. Try to apply most to the mid length and ends of your hair as these are the areas that are most damaged and need it. If you apply to much to the roots it can give a greasy appearance. Although my hair appreciates any moisture that does not come in a bottle with “PEROXIDE” on it. Once you have applied the Frizzease to your hair DO NOT wash out. Just go ahead and style your hair as usual.
The result ------------ The result is fab. I use this stuff every time I wash my hair I really would be lost without it or single!!. My hair has needed rescuing more times than I care to remember and it never fails to work. Even in the darkest of times of an all over blonde with far to much hair in the brush than should have been.
The price ----------- Frizzease comes in a few shapes and sizes Frizzease hair serum 25ml- £3.99 Frizzease extra strength 50ml- £6.99 Frizzease light hair serum 50ml- £5.65 Frizzease 50ml regular- £5.95
Obviously these prices will vary store to store and the prices above are at Boots May 04. Although I do tend to buy mine from Superdrug as they frequently have it on offer with over a £1 off.
My opinion --------------- You will have to trust me on this one chaps but I may not know much but kcjack knows how to make over processed hair look decent again. If you can afford it try KMS Reconstructor as a conditioner as it does re construct hair very well although is pricey at £15 a bottle. Although if you use this in conjunction with the frizzease you will give your hair a great chance to repair itself.. Although I would say the Frizzease makes your hair look fab but generally does not repair it you will have to use other products for that. If you have any queries then feel free to ask me kcjack………or John Frida.
Advantages: Keeps my fair sleek and Frizz free Disadvantages: Bottle leaks
...want sleek shiny hair.
John Frieda opened his first salon in London in 1976 and realised his first range of haircare products through Boots in 1988. In 1990 he introduced Frizz Ease Hair serum. The product has grown since then and was named product of the decade by a leading hair style magazine in the late ninties. I remember the first time I bought this product. It was after I had seen a magazine advert. The adverts today still use the same model ... ...The model has very long naturally curly red hair. In the before picture her hair looks fizzy. There are two after versions, the first when the model has had her hair dried straight using the product and it looks perfectly smooth and sleek and the second when the product has been used to define her curls and remove any frizz. Her hair looked marvellous, I was straight out to buy the product.
The product states that:- “This Hair Serum instantly ...

Advantages: It works and doesn't make your hair greasy Disadvantages: Could be expensive if you use a lot
I have the most annoying hair possible (or maybe we all think that about our own hair). It is dead straight, lank and greasy – lovely! To cap it all I have horns. By this I mean two curly bits at the edges of my fringe that curl up every day to look like cow’s (or devil’s) horns. My partner often ‘moos’ at me. It gets worse in the damp or rain and I have to wash it or wet it and dry it every morning to try and flatten ... ...day). If you look carefully at my profile photo you can just see it starting to curl at the edges. I blame my mum for passing me her annoying genes.
I had heard of this Frizz Ease serum from adverts but presumed it was for frizzy hair as the product name suggests. One day I read a Ciao opinion about it which suggested that it could also be used to smooth curls rather than frizz and it gave me an idea – why not try it for my horns?
I purchased ...

Advantages: Does what it says it does Disadvantages: Expensive to buy
John Frieda Frizz Ease hair serum is a must for anyone with dry, frizzy and unruly locks. The first serum to be widely available outside of salons, for my money it's still the best by far. It can turn even the nastiest haystack into a sleek, shiny pride and joy instantly.
Frizz Ease serum comes in a 50ml see through bottle which costs around £6. Expensive, but it does last. I get through one botle about every three months, and I use it A LOT.
Basically ... ...and you'll find that your straighteners get your hair straighter than ever before, and it stays that way too.
Frizz Ease works perfectly well on its own, but you can also buy other John Freida frizz-busting products with the same ingredients, such as shampoo, conditioner, conditioning spray and hairspray. ...

Advantages: makes you hair pokerstraight , frizz free and smooth Disadvantages: doesn't last really long , looks a bit greasy if too much is used
When I first bought JohnFrieda Straightening Spray/Potion I didn't think it was going to be that good.
But I judged it without knowing how great it really is!
This really makes your smoother, straighter and frizz-free.
It also repairs and protects hair from any heat styler.
Great isn't it ??!!!!
How to use it.....
I shampooed and conditioned my hair as usual and towel dried it until it was quite damp. Then I used JohnFriedaFrizzEaseHairSerum ( extra strength formula) and applied it around my hair.
After that i divided my hair into 8-10 small sections,I took one section and sprayed the potion from the roots all the way down using a bit extra for the ends. After That I applied the hairserum agen onto the section.
Now I've got a double sided brush called a "ceramic straightening brush", it looks a bit like a real ...
Advantages: it does what it says on the packet Disadvantages: a bit pricey - doesn't get rid of ALL frizz

At last the ultimate product to make your hair curl
If you’ve had the misfortune to stumble across my photo you’l not fail to notice that I have curly, frizzy hair (mainly curly). I’ve been dependent on JohnFrieda’s FrizzEaseHairSerum since I was a student (and I mean dependent on it) but I’m always willing to try new products which always result in me loyally returning to JohnFrieda – that is until now.
I’ve seen Aveda products eagerly recommended by other ciaoers including their anti-freeze serum. On a recent spending-spree in Harvey Nicks I sauntered up to the Aveda counter (it’s pretty big) and spoke to a nice young chap about the serum. He instead recommended ‘be curly’ to me in order to make the most of my ‘natural assets’.
It costs ...
