I received a free sample of Frizz Ease Original Formula Hair Serum in a magazine. I'm up for anything that's free so I decided to give it a go.

Frizz Ease is made by John Frieda. He has a range of different products for red, brunette and blonde hair. Besides the colours, he concentrates on Fizzy hair as well. Frizz Ease. They have shampoos, conditioners, serums, stylers and finishers.

Shampoo's and Conditioners
Frizz Ease Smooth Start Defrizzing Shampoo Original Formula
Frizz Ease Smooth Start Defrizzing Shampoo Extra Strength Formula
Frizz Ease Smooth Start Defrizzing Conditioner Original Formula
Frizz Ease Smooth Start Defrizzing Conditioner Extra Strength Formula
Frizz Ease Miraculous Recovery® Deep-Conditioning Treatment
Frizz Ease Daily Nourishment Leave-In Fortifying Spray

Serum, Stylers and finishers
Frizz Ease Lite Formula Hair Serum for fine, frizz-prone hair
Frizz Ease Original Formula Hair Serum
Frizz Ease Extra-Strength Formula Hair Serum for coarse/extremely frizzy hair
Frizz Ease Straight Answer™ straightening spray

You can get Frizz Ease Original in two different sizes. 0.8 fl. oz (24 ml) and 1.69 fl. oz. (50 ml). 24ml bottle costs £3.30 and 50ml costs £5.68 in Boots and if you buy now, you'll get one free until 16th August 2005.

From now on I'm using the information that is on the free sample packet.

On the front of the packet, there's a girl with straightened blond hair and a small before picture of the same girl with frizzy hair. It's perfect for both straight and curly style.

On the back of the packet
A small statement from John Frieda. Explaining about the product and how great it is.
Then there's the instructions.
Use after shampooing and conditioning on soaking wet hair (squeeze out excess moisture, but DO NOT TOWEL DRY).
Dispense a dime-size amount of serum into palms and smooth through wet hair, distributing evenly. Use more or less depending on the length and texture of hair. DO NOT RINSE OUT. Style as usual.
Then there's a list of the ingredients and the contains of the packet are 3.5ml

I wash my hair like normal. Using my Sunsilk Satin Protein (purple) Shampoo and Conditioner. I ring the water out of my hair as much as possible and then I open the foil packet and squeeze all the serum into my hand. There's only about size of 50p in the packet. I rub it in my palm and starts to get warm. It doesn't smell of anything though I have a massive cold so I will change this if it does. It's smooth and doesn't stick as much as other straightening serums I've used like Toni & Guy's one that I've reviewed. It works easily into your hair. Best have a comb on hand just to get full coverage. I've just got enough for my hair. Could of done with a tad more but this is a free sample packet so what do I expect?

Now, I love my hair straight as a poker. Normally if I want that it's usually a 8 pound trip to the hairdressers but this time she's on holiday and I don't have the time to find another hairdressers. So am I willing to take this straightening challenge? I guess I am as I've already put the product on my hair.

So I get the hairdryer out with the disfuser on it and get to work. My hair's dry, not as bad as usual. It's slightly tamed. Already warmed up the straightener so I can get the straight look. An hour and half later, hmmmm not as straight as I would of liked it (which is due to my lack of skill not the product) It's a nice straightening/anti frizz product. I like it but there are some cheaper products out there, which do just the same job. As a free sample goes it's great! but I remember when I was younger that I used to buy a cheap anti frizz from Bodycare and it did a fab job. Also I still prefer my Toni & Guy one really. I know it's way more expensive normally but that was free too.

So what I'm trying to say really that most of the products that defrizz your hair and straighten it, have the same basic ingredients only the smell and the stickiness of the product is different to be honest. It's upto you if you buy it as it is a good product and I might buy it one day but for once I'm sticking by my Toni and Guy.

My hair is very boring and straight, so De Frizz products are not something I need to buy - nice review though. Jane x
