I am a natural blonde - honest!! Over the years my natural colour has become darker and looks dirty blonde! Yes LOOKS dirty - I'm not going to tell you if I AM dirty! I'll keep you guessing on that one!! Ha Ha Ha

I've always felt the need to enhance those blonde tones by having highlights which cost me an arm and a leg let me tell you!! Now I don't think I mistreat my hair in any way - well not on purpose! - who would???

I wash my hair every other day. Whilst damp I apply straightening balm before I give it a blow dry. When dry I spritz my locks with some iron spray then proceed with those lovely ghd straighteners to give that ultimate straight and glossy look! Between washes I often have to straighten a few sticky out bits!! All said and done I think I treat it pretty well considering what I spend on products and colour!

My hair is that two-tone kind of way at the moment, you know the kind, dark underneath and lighter on top! Yip I also pay to have some of my hair made darker too! Sounds nuts I know!!

Well just lately I have been noticing that the blonde bleached sections of my hair look in terrible condition. I have been having terrible dreams of my hair breaking and falling out due to it being in such bad condition! I am putting it down to the straighteners being used far too much on bleached hair. You don't have to be Einstein to work out that the two dont work well together with constant use!!

I took myself off to Superdrug the other week to see what products they had that would help repair my hair and prevent further breakage.

I wasn’t really interested in shampoo, it was more the conditioning side of things I wanted to investigate. After spending a good 20 minutes analysing many products I decided Frizz-Ease Miraculous Recovery Deep-Conditioning Treatment would be my purchase! After all I had used the Frizz-Ease serum before and knew that worked so I was hoping that this product would be just as good.

This set me back £3.79 for a 150ml tub. This might sound expensive but this had £1.00 off so would normally be £4.79. The £1.00 off was also another thing that swayed me towards this purchase!!

~~The Tub~~

The tub is round translucent and made of plastic but looks like smoked glass at a quick glance. With the tub being not completely see-through you are able to see that the conditioner is a white colour.

I wont go into too much detail about what's written on the packaging as I have included a picture. There is however a red box on the front with Step 2 written on it. This means that you use this after you have used Step 1 which is the shampoo which I did not purchase!!

~~Promises~~

On the front of the tub the conditioner claims to repair dry, damaged hair. Moisturise, strengthen and shine!

On the reverse of the tub you are informed that the deep-penetrating formula mends, strengthens and glosses severely dry, damaged hair. It will dramatically improve the condition, texture and reflective qualities of the hair.

Now with all these promises do you see why I made this purchase!!!

~~Directions for use~~

After shampooing you have to squeeze out all excess moisture, so not big drips should be left!! You take a dollop of the conditioner and apply to your hair from the root to the tips! If your hair is dry and damaged you are advised to leave the conditioner on for about 5 –10 minutes. If your hair is severely frizzy or distressed you are advised to wrap your hair up in a warm towel and leave for up to 20 minutes.

Once you have left the conditioner on for your desired time you have to rinse thoroughly. Frizz-ease advise you to then follow with Step 3 which is the hair serum. I chose not to follow with this. It was purely the conditioning I required as my hair is not frizzy.

~~The effects and my opinion~~

On my first use of this conditioner I left it on for 10 minutes. This rinsed off very easily leaving my hair feeling very sleek when wet. After blow drying my hair felt really soft and in BETTER condition. The name of this product is MIRACULOUS Recovery. This in my opinion is a bit misleading. Miracles don’t happen unfortunately!! My hair was never going to go back to its pre-damaged state was it??!! It did however APPEAR and FEEL in better nic!

As I wash my hair every second day I have been using this conditioner on every wash and applying to the parts of may hair that I feel needs it – those being the blonde bleached bits! Nowhere on the tub does it say to use only once a week and it doesn’t say you can’t apply it with every wash!!

This is a generous size tub and I am just over a third of the way through it. I have had it for nearly 3 weeks. My hair is long though and I obviously use more than those with short hair would! I like the fact that you can use as much or as less as you want.

Before going to bed one night I applied some of the conditioner to the worse affected parts of my hair and combed through. I truly believed that this would have great results when I washed my hair in the morning! Believe it or not but it had exactly the same affect as when I left it on for 10 minutes!! Perhaps this was one of my blonde moments of madness!!

I reckon the damage is done to my hair now and all I can do is use this product to stop things getting any worse. I have decided on a new approach and that is not to straighten my hair every day!! It’s hard though!!

I do not think my hair would be better if I had used the Step 1 and Step 3 Frizz-Ease products.

I am however going to award this product 4 stars.

Thanks for reading.
