I decided last year to update my hairstyle. I had always had my perm but it was becoming tired and I really needed a change. I went to my hair dressers and said "I want to go straight AND BLONDE !!!!" Well Yvonne loves a challenge and I looked like a different person. Although the results were permanent I wanted to maintain my colour for as long as possible.
I tried lots of shampoos and conditioners that claimed to 'condition and nourish coloured hair' and my hair smelled great and was in amazing condition, but I wasn't achieving the shiny glossy hair like on the television ads. Unrealistic expectations I hear you say, WRONG !! I discovered John Frieda Sheer Blonde Shampoo and Conditioner and I LOVE IT and now I too could be flicking my hair all over the place like the ladies on the TV.
Priced at just over £4 (at Asda) My husband almost dropped through the floor, especially when I bought the conditioner too ! It does seem pricey but the results are definatley worth it. The container looks very much like a giant tube of toothpaste and contains 250ml of 'Moisture Infusing Shampoo with highlight activators' and is a lovely gold colour with black and gold writing. The bottle states that it is aloe vera- enriched and it gently cleanses and restores silky suppleness to burnt out blonde hair. I was doubtful, but willing to give it a go.
I jumped in the shower and squeezed a blob of the clearish shampoo onto my hand and then lathered up my hair, I wouldn't say that there was a particularly strong smell but it really lathered up well and my hair felt really clean. I always use a conditioner because my hair is so dry, I need a conditioner before I can run my fingers through my hair but my fingers were combing through my hair before I even put any conditioner on, I was impressed.
The bottle also claimed to remove all the deposits and dulling minerals that make blonde hair look darker. So when my hair was dry I looked in the mirror and my hair looked like it had just been highlighted again. There were shimmering strands of gold that looked fantastic, I was ready for my shampoo ad audition !! I just couldn't stop looking at my hair in the mirror.
The shampoo contains vitamins A C and a blend of tea tree extract that actually helps to protect the structure of the hair so when you are lathering up the shampoo, it does actually feel really thick and luxurious and it is even gentle enough for daily use too.
There are actually directions on the bottle on how to use the product, it does say repeat if necessary, but I find washing once is sufficient. If you need any further information about Sheer Blonde Products then there is a helpline on the bottle 0800 975 9715 or you can visit www.johnfrieda.com
