I used to have sort of darkish blonde to light brown hair which lightened in the summer, but a while ago i decided to just go for it and colour it. My hair is now quite light blonde (though not bleached!) and, despite what the packet promised, the colour did leave it a bit damaged. Ever since then i have been trying to find a shampoo and conditioner that makes my hair soft and shiney, protects the colour and generally make my hair look half decent. And i think this may be it!
Before using this shampoo i tried LOADS of them. Toni and Guy, Charles Worthington Dream Hair aswell as whatever my mum bought home from tesco and nothing seemed to work. They worked on one thing eg made it soft but left it looking dull or vice versa. Then, i saw this range and decided to give it a
go!
When i first bought this shampoo it was on 3 for 2 in boots and cost around £4.49 a bottle. Or tube as i suppose it is! It is quite expensive compared to other products, but i was desperate to find something to work on it, so i gave it a go. Also, it was 3 for 2, so i also got a conditioner and some styling products. But for now i will stick to the shampoo!
The 'bottle' i suppose is more like a tube, with the bit you squeeze the shampoo out of at the bottom so it stands upside down i suppose (like the new tomato keptchup bottle!). This is good as when you start to run out you don't have to stand in the shower shaking it for ages trying to get some more out! It is not the most fancy packaging in the world, it says the name and some of the ingredients they want to boast about on the front, and also what sort of hair it is for (more about that later). Its all very yellow and gold - it is for blonde hair! And i think they have tried to go for a more 'professional' apperance. On the whole its quite simple, but still looks ok on the shelf!
There are different versions of this shampoo depending on your hair type. If you have iighter blonde hair (like mine) go for the Platinum to Champaign. If it is a bt darker, Honey to Carmamel blonde is probably more suited to you. You can also choose Volumising, Highlight activating, or Moisture Boost. I have tried Moisture Boost and Highlight Activating, which are the ones i wil be reviewing.
Both Moisture Boost (MB) and Highlight Activating (HA) promise to care and repair the hair, though MB is designed for this more. HA is more for really kick starting the colour and making it look like newly coloured hair.
USING THE SHAMPOOS
Same as any other shampoo! Wet your hair, massage in and rinse. You don't need alot of this shampoo. My hair is quite long although fine and about a 2p coins worth works fine. It lathers up very nicely and rinses away easily, although i find it can take a little longer than other shampoos to make sure it is all out thouroughly. The smell is ok, nothing really special. It smells a bit like they are covering up a chemically smell, but it seems to smell nicer after it is rinsed out (your hair smells nice that is!). After using the shampoo i would really recommend using the conditioner from the same range aswell. Also rinsing your hair with cold water after using it really seems to make it more shiney!.
AFTERWARDS
After towell drying my hair i noticed it feeling softer and also a little bit brighter. After Blowdrying you can really see the difference. I find HA and MB offer nearly the same results in the sense of softness and care for hair, although HA makes my hair much brighter. People asked me if i had coloured my hair again after using it, or said it looked much lighter. It really does make a difference in that sense. With styling products from the range, the shine is very impressive aswell.
I have noticed a definate brighter look to my hair, and it is a bit lighter (this could also be the sun!). It makes my colour lok nicer for longer. Out of all the shampoos i have tried, this one is the best one so far, and i think i will stick with it.
The real difference showed after about a week, but after one wash, it makes the hair feel really clean and cared for. It has also meant less flywaways for me, which is always good!
I wash my hair every other day, and a shampoo like this will last me about 2-3 weeks. With the results it gives, it is good value for money, and i have been very pleased with it!
DO I RECCOMMED IT?
If you have natural blonde, coloured or higlighted hair this is someting you should definatly try if you want a brighter colour aswell as care for damaged hair, If you are after volume i would say the volumising shampoo would also be a good idea form my experiences with the other two, although i havn'nt tried it myself.
Sheer blonde is a great range, and there are many differennt profucts available, usually all under £6.
Definatly reccommened!!!

I've tried the volumising version and wasn't impressed, but it sounds like the others may be better, so i might give the highlight activating one a go. I can't believe your shampoo only lasts you 2-3 weeks though! I have long hair and wash it every day, and my shampoo never runs out before a month is up, and usually lasts much longer! Tia. xxx
