John Grisham - the Man

Advantages: John Grisham is a critically Acclaimed Author not to be reckoned with
Disadvantages: none to hand

John Grisham was born February 8th 1955 in Arkansas, United States. He is the second oldest of five children to a cotton farmer for a father whilst his mother brought up the children and looked after the home. They were a Southern Baptist family and were certainly not what you would call well off. Johns upbringing was in a modern environment that was frequently moving - for the first 12 years of his life the family frequently moved before settling ...
...to explore this love further. John Grisham went to Law School, which is where he bases alot of his novels law work on. He offers a creative stance of an author mixed in with an immense knowledge of the US law system and the bureaucracy of the criminal justice system. He also gained an insight into the political arena when he became a politician in 1983.
John Grisham was inspired to start writing novels after a case in 1984 where he decided ... more

Bleachers by John Grisham

Advantages: Well written, great characterization of the coach
Disadvantages: Difficult to relate too as deals with American Football

Background So many of my friends and family recommended I try a John Grisham novel, so I finally did. I saw this book in the market and at 50p so I thought I couldn't go wrong. About the Author John Grisham was born in Jonesboro, Arkansas in the USA in 1955. His first book called 'A Time To Kill' was written in 1989.Since then he has become recognised as one of the Worlds best selling novelists. So far he has written 18 novels, including 'Bleachers', which was first published in 2004. About the book The 'Bleachers' is about an 'old high school hero' Neely Crenshaw. Who returns to his old home town of Messina with many other former players to bury and pay their respects to their old coach Eddie Rake. At the High School fifteen years before Crenshaw was treated like a super star by the school and the town as he was ...

The Testament - John Grisham

Advantages: Fast reading
Disadvantages: nothing

I liked this book a lot. John Grisham gives a lot of details on the places and the story itself. It takes us in the offices of one of the richest men in United States, Troy Phelan. It seems that Phelan's family was not a family but a group of weired and crazy people. Troy is an eccentric man, never loved by any, but everyone loved his money. He ends his life in a wheelchair and always closed in his rich apartment. Phelan wanted to screw everyone and I am sure that such people exist. He did it successfully. All his children claimed to love him and that their father was mentally sick and his will was illegal and void. A Washington litigator, Nate O'Riley, is assigned with the job to find the truth. Nate starts his adventure in the remote parts of Brazil. I am sure that John really visited such places and used to live the experience ...
