This review is on a big 2 door fridge freezer made by John Lewis. I have named the title after a catchy song from Vanilla Ice back in 1990 which entered my head whilst writing about this fridge. (has no relevance apart from ice)
FINDING A NEW FRIDGE As our poor old fridge freezer was packing up shop with thermostat problems (turning into one gigantic ice cube) we needed to get a replacement quick. First port of call was the High Street to get a good idea of what was around to meet our requirements (we needed a big one). We looked at all the well know brands (Zanussi,Hoover,Bosch,Whirlpool etc) which were all very competitive,thus making our job in purchasing a fridge freezer more difficult. As usual good old Peter Jones of Sloane Square,London (under John Lewis partnership) was on our list and it was there we found a fridge freezer that met our needs.
JOHN LEWIS JLFFW1803 FRIDGE FREEZER I personally never knew John Lewis made their own fridges,so I was a little sceptical at first but when compared to the High Street brands there's only one thing you will notice, and that's a name of the manufacturer (why pay extra for the silly name). The John Lewis fridge freezer comes with a 3 year guarantee which was a very strong point for us and we were able to extended this by a further 2 years for just over £100. (5 years+extra £100)
The 'John Lewis JLFFW1803, 2 door Fridge Freezer' has a great temperature control display (illuminated up in blue) at the top of the fridge which you can adjust to suit your requirements (-18c freezer, +4c fridge standard settings) it also displays the room temperature. Inside the fridge section you'll find it spacious with 3 glass shelves, a large pull-out salad/crisper (drawer) and a wine/chiller rack for 5 bottles (very useful). It also seems very streamline for its size, with good practical sized door handles,great storage space and it's easy to clean inside and out.. This is a great fridge freezer at £349.00 that will suit both your pocket and give you peace of mind with a 3 year guarantee (extra 2 years+£100). I would always recommend in doing some thorough research beforehand, especially when buying a fridge, as the size of it and how the doors open can be critical. In the past John Lewis have price matched other retailers which is superb as it saves you shopping around for the best deals. So all in all a great purchase and a delighted customer. 9/10
I'm off now to get some Waitrose organic vanilla ice cream from my super cool John Lewis JLFFW1803 fridge freezer..
