We used it, on the advice of the mid-wives, after bathing and before putting her to bed. I was told this helped to prevent nappy and heat rash. It certainly worked on her. I have always used baby powder, on myself instead of "grown up" powders, as I am prone to mild Eczema and always found the perfume in the adult varieties made me sore and itchy.
With the cheaper versions of the baby powder I have used, I had exactly the same problem, which is another reason why I tend to stick with a product I know doesn't affect my Eczema.
Johnson's baby powder, for those who do not know, comes in a typical powder container, with a twist top with holes to get the powder from the confines of the tub. The container is white plastic with blue writing on the front, stating the brand, product, a statement claiming "clinically proven mildness" and the weight of the bottle in this case 500g.
On the back is the usual. Instructions for use, both on yourself and of course your baby, as that is in fact the real point of this product (the clue is in the title!!!). They also state that Johnson's do not make products for anyone else. Then you have the ingredients, in this case, Talc, perfume and that is all. Then there are contact numbers and a warning saying keep powder away from your children's nose and mouth. Close the lid after use and keep out of children's reach.
The usage instructions are as follows, and this is quoted from the back of the bottle:
"Best for Baby.
Sprinkle Johnson's baby powder on to your hands and smooth onto baby's skin. This creates a smooth friction free layer to reduce the effects of rubbing and chafing, to keep baby's skin smooth and soft.
Best For You.
Use after a bath or shower to keep skin dry, smooth and fresh."
I use it after a wash, a shower or after swimming, to ensure I am dry and feel comfortable. I will even use it to freshen up if I get hot and sticky, as it is very effective for this. I use it everyday and have never had any adverse effects from using it, for example, dry skin, rashes or soreness. Having such sensitive skin I feel I would have had a reaction by now if I was going to.
I feel it is good value for money, and at £1.85 for 500g and 85p per 200g container from Boots. Although, as with everything, you can get it cheaper from Tesco and ASDA's for £1.68 for 500g and 77p for 200g. Then you can also buy this powder in practically any shop or chemist. (Although the price will vary)
I have spent a while trying to work out how best to describe the smell of this powder, and to be honest I haven't come up with much. To me it smells sweet, fresh and like babies!! My husband on the other hand described it as smelling flowery! Either way, if you like the smell of Johnson's baby products then you will like the smell of their baby powder, as they all smell basically the same.
I would recommend this product to anyone, particularly parents with tiny babies. If like me you are prone to mild attacks of Eczema then I would recommend this powder. And I have used more brands and makes than I care to remember, Boots own brand not to mention Tesco and ASDA's own brands. And while they don't all aggravate my skin I just like to stick with a tried and tested powder I know I can trust. Over all I feel this powder is good value for money and lasts for ages, I use mine every day and I have only just replaced my old container, which was bought back in November last year. (Bear in mind please, that I always buy the large 500g bottle.)
Advantages: Smooth skin, cheap and good for babies and adults Disadvantages: too much may cause dry skin
No babies in our household. My mother used this on me when I was little. Now I'm not so little anymore but still we always have Johnson's baby powder in the house. ++Variety, the price ++
There's quite a variety of different Johnson's baby powders. On the website, I found more different ones than I've seen in the shops so maybe some of these are only sold in the US.
Johnson's Baby Powder Johnson“s Lavender and Camomile Baby Powder. Johnson“s Baby ... ...Vitamin E Medicated
Johnson“s Baby Powder Pure Cornstarch with Aloe Vera & Vitamin E
++ Availability ++
As I haven't seen Johnson“s Baby Powder Vanilla & Jasmine, Johnson“s Baby Powder with Aloe & Vitamin E Medicated and Johnson“s Baby Powder Pure Cornstarch with Aloe Vera & Vitamin E in the shops or on UK websites, I can't give the price for them.
You can get Johnson's Baby Powder in 100g and 500g but Johnson“s Lavender and Camomile Baby Powder ...

Advantages: Fresh, clean and skin softening Disadvantages: Leaves white marks on clothes if your not careful
I very rarely use baby products. I mean I have no baby I can steal from in the vicinity so I don't buy it lol However I've been using a fabulous body scrub that does as it says. It brings out impurities. Unfortunately for me its resulted in my back being covered in spots and feeling really, really greasy. After all the impurities have to surface somewhere! However it's left me feeling rather itchy so I've discontinued use of almost everything fragranced ... ...out to Sainsbury's deliberately to buy some 'pure' products so I bought some rather stinky coal tar soap and some Johnson's baby Powder. I'm going back to basics lol
The idea is to have a bath or shower at night and to cover me self in this, top to toe to help combat this oil slick effect on my body I'm getting! In my mind the powder must sop up some of this grease lol
The Packaging....
Well my bottle is a white 200g recyclable bottle. It has ...

Advantages: Smooth, soft feel and reduce skin irritations Disadvantages: None that I know of
My mother used this on me when I was a baby but I have recently discovered this product again.
My skin started feeling itchy, irritated and dry. I tried various kinds of remedies such as hot warm bath, lotions for skin irritations and dry skins, and I don't know what else.
One day, as I was walking down the aisle in the local supermarket, I spied this product in the baby section. On the label, the magical words ``prevent skin irritations'' appeared ... ...back.
The powder smells great and it feels gently on my skin. The powder glides smoothly across my arms and legs and it is magically absorbed into my skin. The best part is it does not leave a white residue on my skin at all. Nor do I feel powdery, like being coated in white chalk. The best time to use this is right after a shower. The bottle behaves like a salt shaker with holes on the top. Shake some powder into the palm of one hand and gently ...

Johnsons Baby Powder is one of the baby 'must-haves'; It is definitely one of the must-haves for bath times and baby changing.. Johnsons Baby Powder is one of the most popular products from the Johnsons Baby Range. It is sold in most supermarkets and stockists of baby products and retails for approximately £2 - £4 depending on the size. It is a talcum powder made especially for babies and is 'clinically proven to be mild and gentle' as per the Johnsons ... ...a large white rounded opaque plastic bottle which is white all over with the words standing out in blue, it is one of the first ones you will spot in the babies' range. The bottle has screw top cover that has two layers which are perforated with holes through which you can dispense the talc and you open and close these by turning the top layer of the cover around. The product itself is white in colour and fine in texture. The product's only two ingredients ...

...after every nappy change. Johnsons baby powder has that typical nice baby smell, the way all baby's should smell. The powder is fine so it doesn't take a lot of rubbing in like some other talcs do and it doesn't clog nappies up if you use it at nappy changes like I do. I would deffinately reccommend using Johnson's powder as although it costs more than own brand powders it lasts a lot longer so probably works out cheaper in the long run and it smells ... ...500g ~ £1.68
I looked on boots.com, asda.co.uk and tesco.com and the powder was the same price from all these places though it is widely available from other shops.

Advantages: Smells lovely, works well, its Johnsons Disadvantages: None for me
I will start by saying that I love the smell of babies! Before I go any further I will qualify that comment. What I actually mean is that I love the lovely clean smell you get when they?ve just been bathed, powdered and changed, not the ?before? smell, about which I won?t go into detail in case you?re getting ready to eat!
So, taking this into account, it isn?t difficult to see why I love to use JohnsonsBabyPowder. I have always bought the standard version for myself but when I got some at Christmas as part of the usual pile of stocking fillers it was the Lavender and Camomile one. I love the smell of both Lavender and Camomile so this was sure to be a winner.
The packaging is the same as the standard version apart from the fact that there is a lavender coloured box on the front of the carton with the words Lavender ...
Advantages: Keeps Skin Dry and Soft. Disadvantages: It Cakes up.
I purchased JohnsonsBabyPowder Pure Cornstarch with Aloe Vera & Vitamin E and, after a week of using it on my daughter I can tell you this product is worth it.
JohnsonsBabyPowder Pure Constarch with Aloe Vera & Vitamin E is a great product that will provide nourshing protection by absorbing extra moisture from the skin to help keep your baby dry. I bought this product due to the fact that my baby had a slight rash under her neck and her diaper area.
In a week of using the JohnsonsBabyPowder Pure Cornstarch with Aloe Vera & Vitamin E the rash on my baby's neck and diaper area was gone and left my baby with really soft skin while it was absorbing the extra moisture from these two areas.
The only thing I didn't like about this product was the fact it would cake up if you use alittle too much so it would be wise to use ...
Advantages: Heavenly fragrance, reasonably priced, makes skin feel soft and silky Disadvantages: absolutely none
Johnson's has recently released a new Lavender & Chamomile BabyPowder. The very fact that this product is produced by Johnson's was enough to nudge me to purchase it.
After a shower later that evening, I sprinkled some of this heavenly powder onto my body. The sweet, delicate scent combined with the silky feeling was a gentle delight to my senses.
I've always been a user of Johnson's babypowders, both on my daughter (when she was an infant) and myself. I've found that it blends with any cologne or perfume that I wear, and it makes my skin feel good. After a hot shower, it seems to make my skin feel even more clean and fresh. As with the standard Johnson's BabyPowder, the new Lavender and Chamomile does not offset any other fragrance that I may choose to add.
There is a relaxation factor added with the use of this ...
