Johnsons Baby Powder is one of the most popular products from the Johnsons Baby Range. It is sold in most supermarkets and stockists of baby products and retails for approximately £2 - £4 depending on the size.
It is a talcum powder made especially for babies and is 'clinically proven to be mild and gentle' as per the Johnsons logo inscribed on the container...
It comes in a large white rounded opaque plastic bottle which is white all over with the words standing out in blue, it is one of the first ones you will spot in the babies' range. The bottle has screw top cover that has two layers which are perforated with holes through which you can dispense the talc and you open and close these by turning the top layer of the cover around.
The product itself is white in colour and fine in texture. The product's only two ingredients are talc and fragrance.. The fragrance has one of those scents that just reminds you of babies but that may be because you only ever smell it on babies.. It's a lovely scent, noticeable and yet mild and subtle and it stays on for sometime after applying. (It is now also manufactured in other versions like 'Lavender and Camomile' and 'Aloe & Vitamin E')
To apply, you need to dispense the product by tilting it over the area of application, then smooth it over the area. For babies, these areas tend to be the areas in the nappy region as the talc is used to protect the baby skin fom excess moisture and friction and help prevent nappy rash and this is all for the general comfort of the baby during and between nappy changes.
It can also be applied to the baby's folds and creases to prevent friction i.e. between folds in the neck, under arms and behind the knees.
I would enjoy using the baby powder after I had given my baby girl a bath. I would pat dry, add some lotion or baby oil then the baby powder afterwards in the areas I have mentionned above to complete the clean, fresh feeling:)
