I very rarely use baby products. I mean I have no baby I can steal from in the vicinity so I don't buy it lol However I've been using a fabulous body scrub that does as it says. It brings out impurities. Unfortunately for me its resulted in my back being covered in spots and feeling really, really greasy. After all the impurities have to surface somewhere! However it's left me feeling rather itchy so I've discontinued use of almost everything fragranced I use and a couple of days ago I went out to Sainsbury's deliberately to buy some 'pure' products so I bought some rather stinky coal tar soap and some Johnson's baby Powder. I'm going back to basics lol
The idea is to have a bath or shower at night and to cover me self in this, top to toe to help combat this oil slick effect on my body I'm getting! In my mind the powder must sop up some of this grease lol
The Packaging....
Well my bottle is a white 200g recyclable bottle. It has a plastic wrapper over the lid with Johnson's & Johnson's written all over it to stop the powder coming out or being tampered with prior to me buying it which you have to rip off. It opens by twisting the lid to reveal the 'sprinkler' system underneath. Blue writing on the front telling me is indeed a Johnson's baby powder by Johnson & Johnson and it tells me the weight of the product, as Ive already stated. It tells me on the front is is clinically proven for mildness. On the back of it says this....
Best for baby.... Sprinkle Johnson's baby powder onto your hands and smooth onto baby's skin. This creates a smooth friction-free layer to reduce the effects of rubbing and chafing, to keep baby's skin healthy and soft. Best for you.... Use after a bath or shower to keep skin dry, smooth and fresh. Also gives me contact information for Johnson's and gives the warning to keep away from children's nose and mouth. Close the lid after use and keep out of the reach of children and ingredients which is only Talc and Parfum.
The Product...
White, fine powder. Changed since I last used it I can tell you! I remember when it came out far to thick lol Same familiar smell as ever that goes across the Johnson's range. Fresh and distinctive! I cant describe the smell as I'm sure no one else can either lol It's a baby product, it's what babies smell of lol.
It doesn't shoot out of the bottle. In fact if you hold it upside down only a little flakes of powder drop out so you are in control and have to shake it a little to get the product out. What you get is a powder that rubs in easily. You don't need loads of it and it does give you silky skin. I have used this tonight and I would say if your going to use this as an adult female don't use it after shaving. Not because it stings. It doesn't, but what it does do is where you shaved the hair from it does collect in the kind of holes you've left behind. Also don't use it just before applying a roll on deodorant and it goes 'gluey' under the arms. Also don't use it if wearing black or dark clothes! It does come off your body and transfer easily but to combat this only use a little. Less is more.
For me this is best used at night, with no other products. It's soothing, smoothing and really pleasant smelling indeed and that fragrance stays on the skin hours. As for my 'oil slick effect', yes it does stop it completely in it's tracks. I just apply it once a day as I said earlier, at night and I'm much more comfy and feel cleaner. Only disappointing thing is it doesn't tell me 'at a glance' if it is tested on animals and doesn't tell me its hypo- allergenic. I'm assuming it is.
I'm very impressed and will stick with it though I won't be using it any other time than at night and on my own lol
I paid 74p for my bottle in Sainsbury's. Does come in a larger size though it wasn't in stock so I cant tell you the size or price. Found in most chemists and super markets and in different fragrances.
