~~~ James’s Haircare ~~~
Being only 6 weeks old James doesn’t have a lot of hair but what he does have is a lovely dark downy covering which seems to be thinning on top and thickening at the back (sounds like a lot of men!). Because he has suffered a bit from “cradle cap” the skin on his head is very peeling and we have been treating this ... ...The Shampoo ~~~
Johnsons Baby shampoo is available in a variety of guises. There is a no more tangles version as well as a variety of different "flavours" (what is the correct term for a shampoo variation? – Answers in comments please!) which include Chamomile which is generally recommended for blonde hair. With this in mind I decided to buy the Chamomile version when I went to Tesco's, but they had the original on a buy one ... more
Well the bottle says "no more tears" and its supposed to be kind and gentle. Then of course there is that advert where the little brat (sorry I meant darling child) is whining on the phone to "Mr Johnson" about her Mummy using her shampoo. It made me start to think about trying this for myself, so I guess the advert worked. Of course now I also have a 6 week old baby, James, so this shampoo is a staple in our bathroom. Also because I do the shopping dear Dave (my husband) uses whatever shampoo comes to hand so he too is a “Johnson’s Baby!)
~~~ My Haircare ~~~ I have long permed hair and the basic problem is that my hair is rather dry and in need of attention. To this end I'm using regular hot oil treatments and intensive conditioners. I have to be a bit careful about exactly what sort of shampoos I use because I have an itchty, spotty, flaky scalp. I suffer from both Eczema and Serbhorric dermatitis on various parts of my body and also on my scalp. I should really use medicated shampoo but I hate the smell of the stuff. Because of these problems I have used a gentle Body Shop shampoo for about the last 10 years. Until I "discovered" Johnsons Baby Shampoo.
~~~ James’s Haircare ~~~ Being only 6 weeks old James doesn’t have a lot of hair but what he does have is a lovely dark downy covering which seems to be thinning on top and thickening at the back (sounds like a lot of men!). Because he has suffered a bit from “cradle cap” the skin on his head is very peeling and we have been treating this with olive oil. Needless to say the olive oil has left his hair looking a bit on the greasy side. This gives us the chance to consumer test the shampoo regularly before we take him out (otherwise we get oily marks all over his car seat/travel system).
~~~ Dave’s Haircare ~~~ Dave has a tendency towards greasy hair and washes his hair every 2 days with whatever shampoo falls into his hand. I’ve had him on wash and go for years because you can buy it on the pound stall in the market! He has told me though that he likes his “special shampoo” of course he was referring to the one bottle of Johnson’s that I bought especially for me and had been using the chamomile version on his dark brown hair. I told him it was for blondes and he has switched to the regular version which he likes just as much.
~~~ The Shampoo ~~~ Johnsons Baby shampoo is available in a variety of guises. There is a no more tangles version as well as a variety of different "flavours" (what is the correct term for a shampoo variation? – Answers in comments please!) which include Chamomile which is generally recommended for blonde hair. With this in mind I decided to buy the Chamomile version when I went to Tesco's, but they had the original on a buy one get one free offer and who could refuse that? Also the shampoo comes in a fairly large 500 ml bottle and costs less than £3 – I'm always keen on making a saving and this is much cheaper than your average "beauty" shampoo.
~~~ The Claims ~~~ The label on the bottle is quite small but does contain a lot of detail. Now as you know its got a "no more tears" formula, which means it should sting like hell if you get it in your eyes. The bottle also says that "you can rediscover your hair's natural baby softness" because it has moisturisers. Of course it mentions a couple of times that its OK to use on a tender baby and there will be “no more tears”. So far this has certainly been the case, James loves having his hair washed and there have been no tears, although we have been very careful and even for the purposes of consumer testing we haven’t got shampoo in his eyes!
~~~ Ingredients ~~~ There is little point in me going into detail here as the ingredients are the usual list of chemicals with long, unpronounceable, unspellcheckable names. I couldn't tell you if any of them are "nasty" as I'm no chemist and I didn't even do chemistry at school. The down side for me is that there seems to be little in the way of natural products in this shampoo and I like natural products.
~~~ Application ~~~ I'm a generous sort of person me, so I pour out a fair amount of shampoo when I use it. With the Johnson's I find that this gives me a terrific lather and there is never any need for a second application. Not that I ever have time for a second application. The shampoo rinses off quickly and easily and I don't feel like I have any "build up" on my hair. For James I just use a tiny blob and he also gets a nice little lather. Dave just slaps it in without noticing (Men!).
~~~ Results ~~~ After I had used the shampoo about 4 times I noticed that my hair felt a lot softer than it had in ages. It's also getting the shine back which had been gone for a couple of years. My hair looks and feels really healthy now, so hopefully this shampoo is repairing some of the damage I've done with perming, colouring and repeated blow drying. James has lovely soft baby hair, the kind we would all love but I think that’s just because he is a baby rather than anything to do with the shampoo. Dave’s hair is soft and shiny, I hate him for that!
~~~ The Bottom Line ~~~ This shampoo is reasonably prices and gives great results. It’s a well known brand which we all trust. Treat yourself and enjoy the results. Why should the babies/kids get all the good stuff when the whole family can use it?
***AUTHOR NOTE*** This is actually the second opinion I've written on this product, the other one was a 90 word opinion written in conjunction to a challenge issued by the Mad Cabbie some time ago.

*JOHNSONS BABY SHAMPOO*
*INTRODUCTION*
I first discovered this product when my younger sister was born, and I joined her at bath times. When I was younger, (and even now) I loved the baby smell, and finally made the connection between the smell and Johnson’s products. By far, this is the best product out of the whole range, as it is the only one I still use since I was a child. It doesn’t seem to have changed a great deal, still being in the same ... ...*PACKAGING*
The shampoo claims to aid the ‘no more tears’ motto, which I must say really is true. It’s the gentlest product I’ve ever used, a bit like E45 in the cream range. The bottle is very simple, and recently the smooth bottle cap has been changed so a type of plastic less slippery than the previous, good stuff as it’s safer! Johnson’s baby shampoo comes in a range of different sizes, ranging from the 100ml bottle, to the 750 in stores such ...

Advantages: Name you can trust, gentle, smells nice too Disadvantages: None - tis a good honest product
I have a secret alliance to Johnson's, it is a name I know I can trust and I have used it on Kayleigh since she was born.
When I found out I was pregnant, after all my panic attacks and counselling from my best friends I began buying baby clothes and products so the costs spread themselves out over five months rather than a huge panic at the end. I stocked up like crazy on Johnson's shampoo, baby bath, baby oil, nappy cream, soap and powders. I ... ...get One free at Boots I got some. If only I knew how little of it I would need to use. Kayleigh is 14 months now, and the surplus goes on and on. I am saying this as a positive point to how long it lasts but I wish it hadn't lasted quite so long as I still feel the urge to buy it when I see buy one get one free - I can not resist a good offer!
Anyway, back on track with the review, it is so delicate on Kayleigh's skin. She had cradle cap and very ...

Advantages: smells lovely, can be used from birth, mild, no more tears Disadvantages: none at all
After 9 weeks of not writing an opinion, I thought that the best opinion I would be able to write would be baby related!
There are so many products I have used in the past nine weeks that I have never used before, and there are many things that I have been through. All of which I could write an opinion about, but I have chosen my favourite thing of all these!
***Johnson’s baby shampoo, detangling***
Why, I hear you ask am I using a detangling ... ...lot of hair, but not enough to tangle! The answer is that it has the most yummy smell! I have never smelt anything so delicious! All the Johnson’s products smell delicious, but this must be the best! It smells incredibly fruity, with hints of apple, grapefruit and peach. The combination of these is nothing but pleasing to the nose, as I am sure you can imagine!
This shampoo comes in a clear bottle, I have bought the 300ml bottle, but there is a ...

Advantages: No more tears formula, nice fragrance Disadvantages: none
I received a sample of Johnson's baby shampoo in a basket of bath products my sister gave me at my baby shower. I was happy to learn that this shampoo would not sting my baby's eyes due to a no more tears formula. The first time I used this shampoo to wash my baby's hair I was very impressed by the nice fragrance. It lathered very well and rinsed out of his hair very easily too. When his hair was dry I noticed that his hair was very soft and smelled ... ...ran out of our regular shampoo that I discovered how well this shampoo is for the whole family. I have used many different brands of baby shampoo and I think this is the best one I have ever used. I would recommend this shampoo to anyone who has children or just likes soft hair and a nice fragrance when they wash their hair.

Advantages: easy to rinse off,smells great,gentle Disadvantages: too many chemicals!
Recently my hair had started to look dull and felt greasy to touch. I tried a few different shampoos to try to improve the look of my hair but nothing seemed to make much difference. Following a recommendation from my hairdresser I decided to try Johnson’s baby shampoo. According to my hairdresser one of the main reasons for dull looking hair, is a residue of shampoo. Johnson’s claims that their shampoo is easy to rinse out, so I decided to give ... ...Johnson’s baby shampoo comes in several different varieties, original gold, camomile (which is great for fair hair) one that claims to detangle hair and the latest version, which contains honey to keep in moisture. Advantages: Leaves hair smelling beautiful Disadvantages: Hard to grip bottle
Johnsons is a big name in the world of baby, and since I had my eldest daughter over 7 years ago, Johnsonsbabyshampoo has been a firm fixture in our bathroom.
Easily recognisable, the bright yellow shampoo stands out in a clear bottle, with a matching yellow cap.
It boasts a 'No more tears' forumla, which in my opinion works really well. My girls are wrigglers at bath time, and quite often the suds drop down onto their faces, and they have never had a stinging sensation, or sore red eyes, like you do with some adult shampoos.
Easy to use, just wet the hair thoroughly first, then add a dollop of shampoo, and massage in to create a lather. The shampoo foams up really well and makes lots of suds to cover the hair and give a good wash - a bonus when using an older children with long hair. Once the whole hair is lathered up, rinse out ...
Advantages: Mild but effective Disadvantages: None
I absolutely love Johnson and JohnsonBabyShampoo.
I've tried most of the other "baby" haircare products on the market but always come back to this one.
It cleans hair really well, washes out easily is gentle enough to use on very young babies as well as adults. I use it myself as it's a really light shampoo, it doesn't strip my hair of its natural oils and also doesn't leave build up.
My hair always styles well afterwards and is really shiny plus the smell is just wonderful - it reminds me of my little one, every time I use it. I often use the matching Conditioner too as it's also very good and seems to agree with me in terms of getting rid of tangles.
The entire range represents fairly good value for money with a big brand name that you can trust. I love it and wouldn't hesitate in recommending it to anyone! ...

EYE, EYE FOR JOHNSONSBABY SHAMPO0
Advantages: Pure and Mild
Disadvantages: Nil.
The hospital recommended this shampoo to me when I went to have my cataracts assessed. I did find it quite hard to find, but eventually got it in Sainsburys. As my eyes are very sensative at the moment I started to use it immediately and couldn't believe how mild and gentle it was. I not only use it to wash my hair, but use it on cotton wool buds to wash my eye lashes, which now also feel soft and silky. I would personally recommend this to anyone who has sensitive eyes or a dry skin. Even my hands felt silky after using this shampoo. I feel it is a bit expensive, but that is certainly outweighed by the overall advantages of the product. ...
