THE OIL
The oil is colourless like water. It somehow feels greasy on my hand. I always put on a drop after drop on my palm. Squeezing the bottle tight makes the oil run through my fingers as it is not thick. The scent is really mild. Just perfect for babies.
FOR BABY'S SKIN
Johnson's Baby Oil Lavender moisturizes my baby's skin. There are times when he feels itchy even without rashes. I always consider it as itchiness due to dry skin. I don't apply it directly on his skin whilst it is dry. Instead, I apply a small amount on his skin whilst it is still damp after bathing. The oil mixes with water on his skin then I damp him dry with a towel. That way, the excess oil will be removed and what's left on his skin is just the right amount of baby oil that moisturizes without feeling greasy. His skin becomes smooth the whole day without looking shiny.
FOR BABY'S HAIR AND SCALP
My kid has thick hair that tends to stand at the top of his head like a punk-rock singer. Johnson's Baby Oil tames his hair by keeping it in place. Of course he can't use hair gel or hair spays yet. This oil is very gentle on his hair. His face looks so clean with neat and shiny hair. I just have to apply baby shampoo on his hair twice when taking a bath. The oil is not that easy to be removed.
There was also a time when his scalp became flaky. I massaged a small amount of this baby oil on his scalp for 3 days then the flakes were completely gone.
BABY'S MASSAGE
A very light massage strengthens baby's muscles, they say. For me, it is more of showing my affection to my child. I always make it a point that I give my toddler a light massage at least once a week. Johnson's Baby Oil is very helpful lubricant when I give his feet and hands a massage. I put on a drop of baby oil on my palm, mix it with baby lotion and rub the mixture with my palms and I'm ready to give him a light massage whilst we have a 'baby-talk'.
MUMS USE IT TOO
I admit I also use Johnson's Baby Oil Lavender. * I use it in my hair when it tends to be very dry due to over-styling. It takes a lot of shampooing though for the oil is not really easy to remove.
* I also use it to remove make-up when I run out of make-up remover especially the hard-to-remove mascara.
* I put on a generous amount of baby oil on my hands when they become dry and I wear gloves for about an hour to intensively moisturize them.
* I add about a handful of baby oil to my bath water once a month when I want to moisturize my whole body.
Advantages: Leaves Baby Silky Smooth To The Touch. Disadvantages: Must Be Applied Right After Bath Or You Will Have A Slightly Sticky Baby.
I was given JohnsonsBabyOil Gel Lavender as a gift during my baby shower and, after using the product for the first time I can tell you I will purchase again in the near future
The JohnsonsBabyOil Gel Lavender helps lock in moisture so your skin will stay soft and silky smooth all day. This product contains a fast absorbing formula that won't leave a greasy after feel. Also this product has been dermatologist and allergy tested.
What I like most about this product is that it helps prevent chafing and getting rid of skin rashes on my baby while leaving her silky smooth. I also love the Lavender scent that isn't overbearing and helps calm baby down before bedtime.
What I didn't like about this product was it is best applied right after a bath otherwise you may end up with a slightly sticky baby. ...
Advantages: Lovely smell which doesn't sting the babies eyes Disadvantages: There are more effective ways of using Lavender

Personal Comments
I have used this product on my ten week baby for several weeks. I had previous used just olive oil and a drop the essential oilslavender and camomile.
After several weeks of using the bedtime bath I noticed that my child's skin had become dry and there were little dry patches on her arms. These did clear up after I stopped using the product. I don't know if this is caused by the bedtime bath and I would use the product again when my baby ...
Advantages: No more tears, nice smell, 1/3 baby lotion so ensures a good wash Disadvantages: Pricey, smell doesn't last all day, and not a lot of lather
I am reviewing the 400ml Johnson's Baby Original Softwash. My version has a PINK LID, however I cannot see what the different to this one and the blue lid version (think they are doing it for parents who like blue for boys and pink for girl - however i'm sure my son doesn't care about a pink lid!) and it is 400ml.
