I love a new product, and having suffered from some very sleepless nights lately i was desperate to try something to help with my insomnia, now i'm actually taking 3 different types of medicaion at the moment, don't worry i'm not ill, but each day i can find myslef taking up to 8 pills a day, which help control my stress as well as my allergies, i also take triceratops and so wasn't really looking to have to try and remeber to take another pill, and having my bag seem like my own personal drug store i decided to go with something less invasive! Having sifted through Ciao for the answer i came across a review on this product! Johnsons baby bedtime lotion! The difference about this new product is noticably the addition of the word "bedtime", i was assured that a quick wiff of this every night and i'd soon be off in the land of nod. so i marched into boots the very next day!
Whats it do? As briefly explained before this Johnsons product which retains it's usual function moisturises, but also helps babies fall into a soothing sleep. Johnsons are a renowned company who specialise in baby care products and this is the latest in their line of products!
How does it work? This lotion helps aid gentle relaxation with it's aroma of lavender of camomile, two natural ingredients which are used frequently to help calm and relax the senses. After taking a bath you are advised to rub a small amount into your skin, it absorbs nicely into your skin which means it will go further, this should release a wonderful smelling aroma of the lavender and camomile helping you to drift peacefully off to sleep.
What else does it do? As is obvious, this is a lotion, and as it is designed for babies in mind it is PH balanced and very gentle on the skin, no need to worry if your skin is sensitive to allergies like mine! It has built in moisturising properties and when used on wet skin helps lock in moisture. It definately delivers in that department too, my skin feels so soft and smooth, a handy little extra from this product.
What does it look like? The lotion is of a smooth creamy consistency and is white with perhaps a small hint of lilac, if you look very closely. The bottle is your typical Johnsons shape, with their logo in blue joined writing, a Lilac colour theme representing the lavender and a small emblum demonstrating that the product is "clinically proven mild". Avery simple and pleasant bottle!
How does it smell? As is probably obvious the aroma is of lavender and camomile, but i am writing this part in case you should have reservations whether or not you may find it unpleasant, i dont mind lavender and camomile but i know that if too strong it can be overpowering, not the case with this product, it has a nice subtle hint of both aroma's and i even slapped some on the other morning as it made me smell nice, not at all like an old lady, more like a baby! And who doesn't love the way babies smell?
Does it work? Well after a long realaxing bath before bed the last couple of nights i have rubbed it in as directed, and i have been sleeping much better, perhaps it's psychological but the smell is definately helping me to unwind, i feel the whole routine prepares me to have a nice realxing sleep and its well worth anyone's while.
How much? A bottle containing 300ml cost me £3.60 from my Boots store, i'm sure it can be found cheaper elsewhere as Boots can be a little bit pricy, but i thought this was a reasonable amount to pay, the bottle comes in a larger size but this bottle will do me very well, as i only need to use a tiny amount, as it goes a long way.
Its well worth a try if like me you don't want to keep popping pills to help you with your ailments, a nice soothing alternative that'll moisturise your skin at the same time. All i can think is what am i going to do without it!

A TRUE STORY
Once upon a time there was a very tired mummy with a very tired baby. Her baby boy wouldn't sleep. And because he couldnt sleep he was getting overtired. And because he was getting overtired he was crying. And because he was crying he couldnt sleep.
The mummy tried reading bedtime stories, singing songs and putting new toys with her baby. But nothing worked. The mummy felt she'd been flattened by a steam roller and the baby wasnt too ... ...some fresh air. Whilst she was in the chemist getting some pain killers to help her headache that had been caused by no slep, she notice a bottle of Johnson's Bedtime Lotion on the shelf. Even the bottle was a calming colour and when she open the lid, an aroma filled with lavender and camomile stroked her senses. She decided to buy a bottle.
That night, the mummy bathed her baby and sang him some songs. She then lay a soft towel on the floor and ...

Advantages: it works a treat, smells great and is cheap Disadvantages: how addictive is this smell?
When i gave birth to my son, I received a free pack (The Bounty Pack for those in the know), which contained a free bottle of baby massage gel. I read up on how to do baby massage, and found that baby loved it. However, it didn't aid sleep and it was only when Adam was six months old that I found Johnston's Bedtime Bath worked. With this new-found knowledge, I decided to give the lotion a bash to see if it would be as successful.
The lotion contains ... ...sleep. The scent is gentle and unimpossing. In fact, its positively relaxing.
So, squirting a little into my hands and warming it, I continued our massage sessions in the same way as before. Adam loved the feeling, it rubbed in well and wasn't at all sticky. The lotion left his skin soft and silky and smelling adoreable. Although I cannot say whether this has helped my son to sleep, I know that it helps him to relax. I often use it on my older daughter ...

Quick review of Johnsons Baby Lotion Bedtime
I tried this range and liked it but one month when it was time to buy more money was a bit tight, I tried the tesco lavender baby range (it's in purple packaging) which also aids sleep and found that it works every bit as good as the johnson's stuff but its half the price!!!!!
Hope this review helps other mums and dads who find cash a bit tight now and again, just remember you're not the only one out there but keep your chin up and you'll get through it!xxx ...

Advantages: lovely smell, easily absorbed, not greasy, good value for money Disadvantages: none
I bought the Johnsons bedtime range after my son began waking through the night. The other products didn't last very long but I still have over 1/2 a bottle of the Bedtime Lotion left. It smells fantastic and the smell lasts for quite a long time, if you rub it into your baby's skin at bedtime they will still smell of it in the morning. I'm not sure if it helped my son to sleep for longer, but the quality of his sleep did seem to improve, and he ... ...into baby's skin and isnt greasy or sticky as I have found some lotions can be. It is rather pricey (I think I paid around £3.70 for what seemed like a pretty small bottle) but the lotion does go a long way, so although it is quite expensive, the value for money more than compensates! ...

I am reviewing the 400ml Johnson's Baby Original Softwash. My version has a PINK LID, however I cannot see what the different to this one and the blue lid version (think they are doing it for parents who like blue for boys and pink for girl - however i'm sure my son doesn't care about a pink lid!) and it is 400ml.
